Voluntary stress is a strange thing to sign up for. Here's why it works.

Your nervous system spends most of its time in "go" mode - sympathetic, reactive, on. Ice and heat are a shortcut into both states on purpose: the cold sharpens the stress response, the heat asks your body to work to stay regulated. Neither is comfortable. That's the point.

The difference is choice. You decide when to step in, and when to step out and that choice is what may separate stress that wears you down from stress that builds capacity.

But the real work isn't in the cold or the heat itself. It's in what happens after - the breath out, the stillness, the return to calm. That's the reset. Practise it enough and your body may start recovering from everyday stress the same way. ♨️

Every ice bath has the same script, just in a different order depending on the day. The resistance shows up first - it always does. Stay with it long enough and something flips, and that's the part nobody warns you about until you feel it yourself.

Tell us your most irrational thought in the ice? 🧊

A plan for your mind, not just your body.

Most people prep for the ice bath physically - nobody tells you to prep mentally too.
Box breathing is one of the simplest tools we teach at Sisu: INHALE 4, HOLD 4, EXHALE 4, HOLD 4, REPEAT.

It gives your mind something to focus on the second the cold hits, so you can meet it instead of fighting it.

The slow, controlled breath signals to your nervous system that you're safe, even when your body wants to panic. That's the shift - from reacting to the cold, to choosing your response.

Save this one for before your next session.
And if you're yet to try it trial week is 2 sessions for $45.

No question is too small. Especially not your first one. 🀎

Do I need to be fit? Can I come alone? What if I want to leave early? We get asked all of these, every week - and the answer is always some version of: come as you are, move at your own pace, listen to your body.

Still curious about something? DM us, we'll talk it through.

Come as you are.

Sisu isn't built for one type of person. It's for the ones who train hard and the ones who've never done an ice bath in their life. The regulars who know exactly where to sit and the first-timers still working out the towel situation. People coming to push their limits, and people just coming to breathe.

No fitness level required. No look to fit. No version of "not ready yet."

However you show up, you're welcome here. 🀍

Meet our classes...🧘

Sauna and ice are where most people start - but they're not the whole story.
Slow flow yoga to move with intention.
Deep release to soften what's holding tension. Breathwork to quiet the noise.

Different doors, same destination - a nervous system that knows how to come back to calm.

$20 for non-members | Book online

THE SAUNA WILL TALK YOU OUT OF IT BEFORE IT TALKS YOU INTO IT πŸ”₯

That's normal. That's actually the whole process..
Resistance first, release after.

You don't need to love the heat straight away.
You just need to sit in it long enough to let your body catch up to your breath.

This is what consistency looks like.
Not motivation, just showing up and letting the heat do what it does.

You've done hard before. πŸ§Šβ„οΈ

Cold showers. Hard conversations. The first day back after a holiday. None of those had an instruction manual either - you just met them, breathed, and came out the other side.

The ice bath isn't a new skill. It's the same one you already have, just with colder proof.
