Paddington Skin
Skin cancer checks and treatments. Natural-looking aesthetics to give you confidence in your skin ❤️
A full skin check is recommended every 12 months for most adults living in Queensland, but do you know what to look out for on your skin between checks?
A handy acronym to help you remember is SCAN your skin. Dr Kylie explains here in more detail what to look for:
S - soreness of a spot or a spot that’s not healing or keeps bleeding
C - changing. Any spot on your skin that is changing in size, shape, colour or texture is worthwhile us having a look.
A - abnormal. Any spot that just doesn’t look right or stands out among the surrounding skin and other spots. We often call this the ‘ugly duckling’ sign
N - new. A spot, particularly a new mole would definitely be something we’d want to check, particularly if it is changing or growing quickly.
If you notice any of these, don’t wait for your next scheduled skin check! Book a spot check’ with us so we can give you our expert opinion and work out a good plan of action 😃
What’s is the best sunscreen to use? (Hint: the one that goes on to your skin and doesn’t remain in the bottle!). Dr Tim explains more… ☝🏼
Dr Kylie talking about our fractional laser - great for skin rejuvenation! Think fine lines, areas of dyschromia (uneven pigmentation). This video talks about what to expect, downtime and how to prepare for the procedure. Book in with Dr Kylie to find out more!

Hi! 👋🏼 I’m Dr Jackie Montefiore, General Practitioner with a special interest and training in skin cancer medicine and cosmetic treatments.
I love my job because I feel strongly about detecting skin cancer when it’s small and easy to treat. I also enjoy being able to offer down-to-earth cosmetic treatments that have people feel more comfortable in their skin, without looking like to Cruella De Ville (disclaimer: if you want to look like Cruella De Ville, props to you, but I’m probably not the best person to talk to about that 🤣)

Here is Dr Kylie holding the most important tool for a Skin Cancer Doctor: a Dermatoscope!
A dermatoscope is the stethoscope of other doctors, a hammer to a carpenter… you get the drift! It’s a vital tool that allows your Skin Cancer Doctor to see the characteristics of your skin spots in a high level of detail allowing us to analyse the spot and determine if it’s benign or if it might be malignant requiring a biopsy.
If you’re having a skin cancer check, make sure your doctor is closely looking at your spots with a dermatoscope!
