Date with a Fish Palm was one of those paintings that felt like it painted itself.
Imagine fish swimming through a palm tree… there’s movement and stillness together. It’s a little magical. This piece was a personal favourite from my sell-out exhibition at the end of last year.
So when the opportunity came to collaborate with Tecna Professional Haircare to produce a gift box to house their products it felt right.
Their vision - a world that feels light, carefree, connected to the open air and nature’s simplicity - it’s exactly why I paint. Enter that world of happy.
When I first saw, and still see my artwork on this box.. I don’t have the words to describe this.
It’s real. It’s validation in a beautiful way when a brand believes in the same world you’re trying to create - one that celebrates freedom, natural beauty, the simple joy of being connected to nature.
Art has a way of finding its people, and I love that this painting gets to travel into homes and hands I’ll never meet….. spreading that world of “happy”.
