Successfully developing a home practice takes an effort , commitment and patience but most of all, technique.
Everyone who practices yoga wants to have their own home practice but for most it remains illusive.
Home practice is not about doing an online class at home or even practising at your home. It’s about navigating the territory of your actual home, your body, mind and breath. The body is the home. You develop the sense of being at home within yourself. You learn to take care of yourself. To nurture and soothe yourself, to energise and gain clarity when you need it.
But without good technique home practice tends to be random and sporadic, and progress is slow. With techniques we are able transcend what is just habitual or personal and bring awareness into our practice and life in general.
Join Rose for her 2hr Zoom workshop series once a week.
Every session will include both yoga practice and theory including asana, pranayama and meditation.
This is not just for yoga teachers it’s for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of yoga techniques and how to use them for life.
DM us or email [email protected] to find out how you can join.
Hours bankable for Katonah cert.

Our number 1 Boy ⭐️
Available for cuddles whenever you’re in at Ritual ❤️
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, as we begin to transition through the final stage of Summer towards Autumn, now is an excellent time for us to nurture and nourish the Earth Element within.
Join Ashleigh for her 2hr Workshop on Yin Yoga & TCM for stability and peace of body & mind.
The Earth Element in TCM represents our Stomach & Spleen. Closely related to our digestive system.
Signs of Imbalance:
When the Earth Element is imbalanced we begin to experience digestive discomfort and issues. This can be caused by:
- Overworking
- Overexerting
- Overthinking
- Excessive worry & stress
When there is imbalance, we can also feel unable to digest our thoughts, emotions and experiences in life. We become stuck and stagnant, unable to move forward.
Signs of Balance:
When we are balanced in our Earth Element we feel strong and purposeful. We feel grounded stable and safeWe feel not only a deep connection to the earth that continually supports us everyday, but we also feel that deep connection to our own centre - the core of our being and seat of the soul.
Nourishing our Inner World.
Modern day life is constantly pulling us outside of ourselves which can cause us to loose the connection to a stable centre. We become caught up in our external world and in all of that busyness that we create for ourselves. Our inner world is also known as our intuitive body or energetic body that exists inside each of us and is what helps us live and sustain in this external world.
We can build and replenish our inner world through the nourishing practises of Yin Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation. On the day we will learn to do this through specific techniques and simple practices which involve:
- Relaxing the body
- Slowing down the mind
- Deepening the breath
- Cultivating inner stillness
- Listening to the inner wisdom that's being shared with us from deep within to help us come back into a more grounded, centred, balanced, stabile and safe space.
Join the wonderful and very knowledgeable Ashleigh Green for two hours of peace and rejuvenation.

Is yoga good exercise ?
Here’s what the one and only has to say -
« The art of good yoga is to fight your propensity to be habitual. By practicing yoga in this manner you generate heat, moisture, and agitation. Your body is designed to" fit" so that it fits your environment. The practice is designed for each of you to demand out of yourselves that "fit".
When you begin studying yoga you come to the mat "personally" with your " first nature" as your information. The way that you naturally do a pose, is to use whatever is available to you, your strong back, your strong legs, etc. Eventually you develop a "second nature": the capacity to work not personally but archetypically to find a pose. In this way you have to be conscious, and purposeful. You have to use the imagination, the forms and the breath to practice consciously rather than using whatever information you already have. While yoga isn't specifically designed for aerobics, it demands a physical effort to build a cathedral inside your body, which by its very nature is rigorous »
We have a new training coming up with Abbie mid this year! Keep an eye out on our socials for dates x

Learn how to practice Bhramarī Prāṇāyma (भ्रामरी) with Ṣanmukhī mudrā (शन्मुखी).
Bhramari is one of the 8 classical Pranayamas first documented in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
The word ‘bhramari’ refers to the humming sound made by a ‘bhramara’ (a bumble bee in Sanskrit).
The Bhramari Pranayama consists in making a deep, soft humming bee-like sound while exhaling. Bhramari causes the whole brain to vibrate. Vibration of the cerebral cortex sends impulses to the hypothalamus which has the capacity to control the pituitary gland- the master of all glands. The hypothalamus also sends impulses to the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. This helps tune the whole neuro-endocrinal system to function in a harmonious and synchronized way.
The word ‘shanmukhi’ the ‘six-gated mudra’ and is composed of two Sanskrit words – ‘shat’ (six) and ‘mukhi’ (mouths or gates). The The six gates refer to the two eyes, two ears, nose and the mouth.
The purpose of the Shanmukhi Mudra is to symbolically shut the mind from the five senses so the mind can maintain an inward focus in the state of pratyahara (sense withdrawal) and get ready for meditation.
Simple instructions:
1. Sit in any comfortable meditative position with your pelvis in a neutral position, spine long, shoulders relaxed.
2. Take Shanmukhi Mudra
(apply light pressure with the thumbs and the fingers against the various sense organs, as shown in photo).
3. Direct your mental focus at the third eye (Ajna Chakra), the spot between the eyebrows.
4. Take a deep inhalation. While exhaling, make a soft, humming sound like a bumble bee. Try to keep the breathing deep and gentle so as to maximize the duration of exhalation without straining the breathing in any way.
Repeat the cycle of inhalation followed by the humming exhalation ten times or as long as you feel comfortable. At the end of the routine, you may continue with your own silent meditation.
"By constant practice of Bhramari, the yogi’s mind is absorbed in bliss" (Hatha Yoga Pradipika -2.68)
