The Sabla is a traditional Palestinian tatreez motif, meaning “braid” or “ear of wheat”. It’s a symbol of harvest, abundance and prosperity ✨

This very cool motif is traditionally associated with Safad, a historic Palestinian city whose tatreez patterns form an important part of Palestinian cultural heritage.

A tatreez is more than an embroidery. It carries stories of place, identity, family and memory, passed from one generation to the next.

Us lot down at Roxxi’s were honoured to see this beautiful piece of Palestinian heritage carried forward, although this time, as a tattoo.

History and a lot of meaning. And a beautiful reminder that culture lives on 🇵🇸

Pitu has joined Roxxi’s fair and square and we couldn’t be more stoked to have such an awesome team player and tattooist with us. No BS, just a love of art and tattoos and making sure every client gets the best tattoo and experience. A true love for the craft. During Pitu’s time off the tools she teaches kids art - Love that 🫶🏼
