If you're starting a lash business, it's so easy to get distracted by the fun stuff.
✨ Logo
✨ Business cards
✨ Instagram templates
✨ Pretty colours
And yes, those things matter.
But your branding starts much deeper than that.
You need to understand your audience, your voice, your story and the experience you want your business to create.
Once those pieces are clear, choosing your colours, visuals and content becomes SO much easier.
Don't build a brand around what looks cute.
Build one around who you want to become known for.

A pretty Instagram feed isn't the same thing as having a strong brand.
I see so many beauty businesses spending hours choosing colours, fonts and logos...
But they haven't figured out the bigger picture.
Who are you trying to attract?
What do you want people to feel when they see your content?
What makes your business different?
What do you actually want to be known for?
That's where real branding starts.
And you don't need to have everything figured out before you start.
I created a FREE Branding Worksheet to help you work through your brand voice, visual identity, story, audience and offers.

Save this bc you might need one of these replies later 😅
Running a beauty business is 50% doing services and 50% testing your patience.
There are definitely moments where the reply in my head is VERY different from the one I actually send.
Because I quickly remember... I’m not just replying as me. I’m replying as the business.
So I take a breath, backspace the petty and send the professional version instead.
Because you can be nice, clear whilst still holding your boundaries.

Sometimes the difference between a follower and a client is one sentence.
Not a rebrand.
Not new photos.
Not lower prices.
One sentence that takes her from "I would love that someday" to "oh, that is easy, let me just send a photo."
We forget that what feels obvious to us is a maze to her.
We know the difference between classic, hybrid and volume.
We know how far in advance to book.
We know what the appointment involves.
She knows none of it, and nobody wants to look silly asking.
The kindest thing your content can do is remove every tiny bit of guesswork between her and the chair.
Look at your last CTA.

Growing up, my name got absolutely BUTCHERED.
Mispronounced.
Made fun of.
And as a kid, I hated it.
I wanted a name nobody questioned.
Nobody laughed at.
Nobody needed me to repeat three times.
But getting older does something to you.
You stop wanting to blend in so badly.
Because my name is more than something written on a birthday card.
It connects me to my family.
My culture.
My childhood.
My roots.
And a part of my story I didn’t fully appreciate when I was younger.
The very thing that once made me feel different is now something I’m proud to carry.
Turns out, growing up wasn’t about learning how to fit in.
It was learning to be proud of where I came from and be completely comfortable with who I am. ❤️
This is lesson 11/50: Belonging

I know exactly what you are thinking, because I hear it every time I teach this.
"But Anna, if I focus on one type of client, will I not lose everyone else?"
Here is what actually happens.
The moment you start speaking directly to one woman, your content develops a point of view.
It gets specific.
It gets relatable.
And specific, relatable content attracts far beyond its target, because clarity is magnetic to everyone.
The mum focused lash artist still gets the corporate girls.
The editorial nail artist still gets the minimalists.
But now they come already trusting her, because her page felt like it knew what it was about.
Vague is the only thing that repels.
So, gut check: if I looked at your page right now, could I tell within ten seconds exactly who it is for?
Be honest in the comments.

When I was younger, I gave my time away like I had an unlimited data plan 😅
Now, my time is on a very strict budget.
If it drains me, wastes my energy, or doesn’t actually matter to me, I’m probably not available 😉
I’ve learned that time is one thing you can’t get back, so I’m a lot more selective about who gets it and what I spend it on.
These days, I’m choosing people, experiences and work that actually mean something to me.
Midlife really said: protect your peace... and your calendar. 😂
What would you buy back if you had a chance to turn back time?
This is lesson 10/50.
I'll catch you in the next one 😘

Do this to get booked 👇
There is a woman following you right now who has liked your posts, watched your stories, maybe even saved a photo or two.
She wants what you offer.
She just hasn't found the courage to message you yet.
And the wild part? She is probably not comparing you to other artists at all.
She is comparing booking you against the fear of getting it wrong.
Wasting money.
Feeling awkward.
Walking out with something she did not ask for.
Your job is not to convince her you are the best.
Your job is to make her feel safe.
Every piece of behind the scenes content, every client story, every "here is what happens at your first appointment" post is quietly answering the questions she is too shy to ask.
What's the one thing about your process you have never shown on your page?
That might be your next post.
I am breaking down the full trust building framework in my free workshop training.
