Milia Tiny but stubborn.

Today reminded me that everyone is carrying a story.
I started journaling when I began working at new job during the pandemic 6 years ago.
Just little notes. Moments. Conversations I didn’t want to forget. Because each and every one of these stories touched me at some point, I still think about these clients each and every day.
Reading back now… wow.
The stories I’ve been trusted with.
The strength people carry into a treatment room.
The tears that fell between skincare steps.
It’s wild how much life happens in a space that looks so calm from the outside.
How many chapters unfold on a treatment bed.
I didn’t realise at the time, but those pages hold more than memories they hold proof of resilience, vulnerability, and connection.
Everyone really does have a story.
And I’m so grateful I get to witness them.
These stories are heavy. They’re real.
And they’re a reminder that just because someone’s life looks perfect on social media, it doesn’t mean that’s what’s happening behind closed doors.
People show up smiling while carrying grief, fear, trauma, hope, and heartbreak all at once.
You don’t see the silent battles in a curated square.
So be kind. Be gentle. Pause before judging.
You never know what someone had to survive just to make it through the day.
Everyone has a story, even the ones who look like they’ve got it all together.

Today a client screamed at me for asking him to check in at the QR code…
because he was losing at online poker. Apparently hed lost $50,000 that weekend
It was my first day.
This week a client told me she only comes in to see me, and refuses to see anyone else, because I make her feel uncomfortable in her body.
That stayed with me. More than any compliment ever could.
This week a client told me she lost her 7-year-old to a flu-like virus. He wasn’t even that sick.
We cried. We hugged forever. I went home and held my babies tighter.
Today a client came in glowing, pregnant after years of trying. We joked that I don’t want to see her again for 12 weeks ( this was her 14th pregnancy) but the longest baby has stuck

Today another client shared her neighbors daughter (5) has been diagnosed with leukaemia.
Today someone else shared she’d just had an embryo transfer.
Today she shared that it didn’t stick.
Today a 75-year-old man came in for a facial because he’s throwing a block party and wanted to look his best for the neighbours. I thought it was soooo sweet and genuine
Today my beautiful client who was pregnant came in. Our eyes met.
I stepped out of the room and broke down.
Her baby didn’t make it. Fourteen weeks. & her 14th pregnancy. I was also heavly pregnant with Kaiya and felt so guilty.
Today another told me her 12-year-old is pregnant and away
Today someone trusted me with the words that she was r***d walking home after an argument.
Today a client shared her father left her mother for a man.
Today a client told me she felt suicidal. We cried. We talked for hours.
The next day she messaged me to say she’d checked herself in and was getting help.
Today another told me she’s going on a cruise for her 60th birthday and just wants to feel beautiful for her man.
Today my client left her abusive husband.
Today a client shared her husband was diagnosed with cancer and needs to start chemo immediately, they have two kids.
These people aren’t strangers.
They are our friends.
Our neighbours.
Our community.
So please, be gentle. Don’t judge so quickly just because you think you know someone’s story.
I feel incredibly blessed that people trust me with the good, the bad, and the ugly.
It’s what makes my job so meaningful.
Because it’s not just about skin and beauty
It’s about connection.
It’s about holding space.
It’s about being human, together.
