🌿 Thank you, Ceduna, from Rachel The Galactic Shaman 🌿

As my time in Ceduna comes to an end, I’m taking a moment to appreciate the people, connections and beautiful places that have made this visit so special. 💜

To my clients, a big, heartfelt thank you for welcoming me into your homes and trusting me to share in a little of your journey. Opening your heart to someone is a personal thing, and I’m grateful for the time we spent together.

One of the joys of travelling with my work is meeting people along the way—sharing stories, having a laugh and finding connection in a town that was, until recently, unfamiliar.

There’s been plenty of time for exploring too, and I finally caught my beautiful sunset at Pinky Point. What a lovely memory to leave with! 🌅

To everyone who suggested places to see and things to do, thank you. Your local knowledge made my stay all the richer. You’re all bloody legends! 🙌✨

Now it’s time for Diamond and me to head onwards, carrying these memories into the next part of our South Australian adventure. 🚐💫

With love and gratitude,
Rachel 💜

The Door That Needed Closing.

Some doors do not close because we have stopped caring.
They close because we have finally started caring for ourselves.
There are connections that ask too much of the nervous system. Too much explaining. Too much forgiving. Too much shrinking.

A closed door can sometimes be an act of deep healing.

Question:
Have you ever closed a door and later realised it saved your peace?

What is one thing you no longer want to explain or justify?

Day Two: Fog, Coffee and a Plot Twist at the Nullarbor Roadhouse 🚐🌫️

I left Norseman at 3 a.m. This was not a carefully planned early start. Nature called in the middle of the night, and once I’d made the trip across the caravan park, I was wide awake.

So at about 2:30, I drove over to the BP where there were lights, made myself a couple of coffees, tidied the back of Diamond, organised some snacks and hit the road.

On the road again… 🎶

By the time I reached Balladonia, I was ready for a pit stop and another hot coffee. It was after six, but they weren’t open. No coffee for me, then. Onwards!

The fog was thick in places, and the roadside signs cheerfully reminded me to watch for camels, roos and emus. Lovely. They were welcome to stay beside the road, but I was hoping none of them fancied a stroll across it. I slowed down and kept going carefully, with truck lights appearing through the fog ahead.

Then daylight arrived. Sunshine! Hallelujah, I thought. We’re through the worst of it.

We were not through the worst of it.

About 30 kilometres into the 90 Mile Straight, I could see what looked like rain ahead. *Rain I can deal with,* I thought. But it wasn’t rain. It was another enormous bank of fog. Back down to 90 km/h I went. I had nowhere I needed to be for another two days, and I wasn’t about to hurry through something I could barely see.

Eventually, I pulled into a 24-hour rest stop because concentrating that hard was making me weary. I had my other coffee — iced coffee this time — and watched the sunlight try its best to break through. I also had a lovely little yarn with some fellow solo travellers heading towards Ceduna and beyond.

Back on the road, the fog kept playing games with me. It would clear for a few kilometres, I’d think, Oh, thank goodness, and then there it was again. Two roos and one bunny made an appearance along the way. Thankfully, the bunny crossed safely, and we all went about our day.

At Caiguna, I filled up, found something more substantial to eat and changed out of the winter clothes I’d left Norseman in. Shorts and a tank top felt much better by then.

For a while, it was beautiful driving: clouds, sunshine and no rain. Cocklebiddy looked muddy and slushy after a shower, so I kept going. Then, near Madura, I finally caught up with the rain I’d been trying to stay behind all day. Thankfully, it was only light and on and off through to Eucla.

By Eucla, I was tired enough that making a meal from the food in the car felt like too much effort. A bacon and egg burger and a cappuccino, though? Absolutely perfect. I filled up, had a little snooze further up the road, and made it to the Nullarbor Roadhouse.

Powered site paid for, camp set up, everything organised. I was chatting with another camper when they casually said, “Oh, we’re in for a storm tonight.”

I’m like… a what tonight? 😳⛈️

And that, my friends, is where day two leaves us. Love you guys. 💜🚐

Yes I am a couple of days behind in posting, but it will get better, stay tuned....

This is how thick the fog is. Oh and we have a gnomesvill in the outback...lol

The Guilt After Saying No

Many people feel guilty after setting a boundary, especially if they were raised to please, fix, or keep everyone comfortable.

But guilt does not always mean you have done something wrong. Sometimes guilt simply means you are doing something unfamiliar.

Honouring your limits may feel uncomfortable at first, but peace often arrives after the discomfort.

Question for you: Have you ever felt guilty for choosing yourself?
