🎯 Where should PDO threads be placed? For this technique, the target plane is the intermediate subcutaneous fat compartment, positioned deep to the dermal layer and superficial to the SMAS.
The Pinch Anatomy Technique elevates the skin and subdermal fat, creating greater distance between the cannula and critical neurovascular structures.
How do we know we are in the right plane?
Maintaining a steady, elastic resistance helps indicate proper plane alignment.
✓ Ideal plane: Superficial plane just above the SMAS.
⬆️ Too superficial: Risk of dimpling, visibility or extrusion.
⬇️ Too deep: Risk of parotid gland, duct or facial nerve injury.
PINCH → IDENTIFY → INSERT
