When I was waiting for my results, one thought made me cry every single time…

How much would my kids miss me?

I imagined their sadness. Their grief. How could my kids grow up without their mum?

Now that I know it’s benign, it’s easy to look back and think… gosh, my mind went FAR.

But I didn’t know that then.

And if you’ve ever had thoughts like this while waiting for medical results, you’re not dramatic or overly emotional.

You’re human.

Sometimes we’re terrified of leaving this life because we suddenly realise how many people are in it who love us… and how many people we have been given to love. 🥹

I also came out of this incredibly grateful for the healthcare we have in Australia.

The breast clinic honestly felt more like a spa 😂 Calming music, tea and coffee… even a cute little kimono to wear.

Also for anyone scared of having a biopsy… it was honestly hardly painful. A little uncomfortable and it took about 10 minutes. I was sore for 2 days and then completely fine. The doctor and nurses were so kind, empathetic and professional, which made the whole experience much less scary

And a big thank you to my friend Claudia, who booked herself in so we could have a mammogram date together. 🥰

Please do your routine breast checks and screening when you’re eligible.

We’re so lucky to have access to free breast screening for eligible women in Australia.

Early detection matters.

After all the crying, overthinking and imagining every possible outcome…

I got the word I was desperately hoping for.

Benign. 😭❤️

Life will go back to normal now. My kids will fight. I’ll get annoyed. I’ll complain about stupid things. 😂

But I hope I don’t forget what these few days showed me.

I spent so much time thinking about everything I could lose…

Instead, I came out realising, just exactly how much I have been given to love. 🥹❤️
