This is the last few steps of my Strawbale Build. Only handrails are left. The deck is now done!

These beautiful plants self seed all the time so we never have a shortage of their vibrant flowers and peppery leaves.

They take a little bit of getting used to because of their hot flavour, but I eat a leaf or flower each day for general tonic action.

Natural antibiotic plants like this one have so many benefits without damaging your gut flora.
They are high in Vitamin C antioxidants and are helpful in the treatment of lung infections of any kind.

Throw a few seeds in the garden and have your medicine on hand when you need it.

I have been wanting to make a Shaving Cream Soap for a very long time. The problem was that it needed to be high in Stearic Acid to make the rich lather and most recipes needed Palm Oil and/or Soy Wax.

All our products are free from Palm Oil and the Top 10 Allergens (of which Soy is one) so this ruled out both these ingredients.

I needed to formulate a recipe that provided the right amount of Stearic Acid to make a Shaving Soap that did what was intended while still benefiting your skin.

That's when I came up with this beautiful combination of four 100% Organic Butters and Oils and scented with Organic Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil.

Our Shaving Cream Set contains:

🌿 and a Shaving Brush

We always aim for sustainability and zero waste, so refill with a new Shaving Cream Puck when you run low.

Our pucks are wrapped in Unbleached, Chlorine-free, Certified Compostable 'If you care' Coffee Filters, so throw the wrapping in the compost once you have refilled your Shaving Cream Cup.

As the next spring breeding season has begun, the adult Magpie pairs bonds tighten and parents become less tolerant of older offspring.

Parents actively force the 1-to-2-year-old juveniles out of the home territory so they can raise the new clutch of babies.

Displaced teenagers like this guy, often join nomadic flocks of young birds until they find a mate and claim their own territory.

This teenager has decided to hang out with me for the time being and provide moral support while I build the deck.

In return he gets company and feels like I'm good protection as he came up to the shed despite all the noise from the drills and hid behind me and a handrail post, while a Hawk flew overhead, instead of chasing it off like his older relatives.

Each day we hang out while I build and he baths, sunbakes, sings and warbles the day away. It's nice to have the company and I love how the animals feel at home here as much as I do.

3 years Owner building and it has been a part of my everyday life (a big part!). It feels a bit surreal to think it's coming to an end. Many times it has felt so far away (especially the day after day of hand rendering!) and now it's here, I'm feeling pretty sad about it.

It's true what they say - it's the journey, not the destination.
