Not everything should be made faster. One of Lakshmi’s biggest resets has been becoming more intentional about who - and what - she supports both personally and as a fashion designer. Buying fewer pieces, choosing craftsmanship over convenience, supporting artisans instead of mass production and investing in natural fibres that last. Every purchase is a vote for the kind of world we want to live in. A world where skills are preserved, communities are supported and beautiful things are made to be repaired, cherished and passed on.
As all our lives are increasingly shaped by AI, the value of slow craftsmanship has never been greater. What traditional craft do you hope we never lose?

As a designer she works alongside artisans across India, makers who spend decades perfecting a single craft. Embroidery passed from one generation to the next. Weaving is refined over a lifetime and techniques preserved by families for centuries. For Lakshmi these aren’t simply beautiful pieces. They’re stories and communities. They’re livelihoods. Every handmade object carries the fingerprint of the person who made it. Your future heirlooms probably already exist. One of Erin’s simplest resets has been changing the way she buys. Instead of filling her home quickly, she’s learnt to collect it slowly. Searching Facebook Marketplace. Watching online auctions. Finding vintage pieces with another story to tell. Choosing quality over convenience. Character over perfection. Because the most sustainable object is often the one that’s already been made. A collected home doesn’t happen overnight. It’s built one thoughtful piece at a time. Before buying something new this week, ask yourself: Could my future heirloom already exist?

Everyone seems to be talking about decluttering lately.
But I’ve realised I’m not interested in discarding all my things, but rather, I’m interested in owning better.
Before buying something new, I’ve started asking myself one question - Will this still matter in five years?
It’s amazing how many things never make it past that question!
That change in thinking led us to Erin, whose home reminds us that the best spaces aren’t filled quickly but rather they’re collected slowly, one meaningful piece at a time.
Ned & Raquel’s reset started with a simple belief: the materials we’re surrounded by every day have an impact. This is why they are so passionate about their brand From what they design to what they wear, they’ve chosen natural fibres that support comfort, durability and everyday living feels calmer and better for it.
Everyone seems to be talking about better sleep lately. We all need more of it. One of the biggest changes we made as a family wasn’t a supplement or a sleep app. We simply swapped our synthetic bedding for natural fibres like merino wool. Within weeks, we all noticed the difference, better sleep, calmer mornings, and a home that felt more rested. It made me realise that what we sleep in matters. But so does what we wear every day. That got me thinking about our friends Ned & Raquel. They’re designers and founders of a beautiful merino wool brand, so they’ve spent years understanding the difference natural fibres can make, not just to the clothes we wear, but to how we live and sleep. This month, we’re sharing their story.
