Yesterday was a much-needed day to myself! 🥰

I got my nails done 💅🏼, bought MORE new clothes (because apparently my wardrobe reset is still very much in progress 🤣🛍️) and had a little time to just do things for ME.

And today? Straight back into it with a FULLY BOOKED DAY IN THE SALON! 🙌🏼🖤

Not a spare spot in sight, so it’s time to put the comfy clothes away, get the wax warming and get ready for a busy day doing what I love! 😂

I always say how important it is to make time for yourself, but let’s be honest… sometimes you need a day of nails, shopping and pretending you don’t have a million things on your to-do list. 🤣❤️

Now it’s back to looking after all my beautiful clients, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🥰

After rocking my natural curls for the past YEAR, I finally got my hair done today… and somehow walked out with STRAIGHT HAIR! 🤣🤣

No big plan. No overthinking. Just decided it was time for a change! 🖤

I do love my curls, but there’s something about freshly done, smooth, straight hair that makes you feel like a whole new woman. 😍✨

Now the real question is… how long until I wash it and my curls make their grand return?! 😂

Today, 18 October, marks FIVE YEARS since Kaikovae Beauty officially began — and honestly, I have so many feelings about this milestone.

If you’d told me five years ago, while I was ripping up the carpet in my bedroom to turn it into a little home salon, that I’d be here today celebrating five years in business, I probably would’ve laughed and asked you what the hell you were talking about. 😂

Back then, I had a treatment bed, a sink, a dream and absolutely NO idea what I was getting myself into!

I was a mum trying to build a career that worked around my family, doing something I’d wanted to do since I was 15.

I never imagined just how much this little business would grow — or how much it would become a part of who I am.

There have been incredible highs, challenging seasons, lessons I never expected to learn, late nights, plenty of hard work, moments of self-doubt and days where I’ve wondered if I was doing any of it right.

But there have also been SO many beautiful moments.

The clients who became friends.
The conversations that turned into therapy sessions for both of us. 🤣
The laughs, the trust, the support, the recommendations and the women who have continued to choose my little salon, year after year.

And that’s what makes today so special. 🖤

Because Kaikovae Beauty isn’t just a business to me. It’s something I built for my family, with my own two hands, and something I am incredibly proud of.

To every single person who has booked an appointment, bought a product, purchased a voucher, recommended me to a friend, left a review, shared a post or simply cheered me on along the way…

I honestly can’t believe how far this little business has come, and I’m so grateful to every single person who has been part of the journey.

I made my bestie come in for a facial today, purely so we could catch up! 😂🥰

I mean, what better way to have a proper chat than to have her lying down, unable to escape, while I work on her skin?! 🤣🤣

She gets some pampering, I get quality time with my girl, and we both leave feeling better. Sounds like a win-win to me! 🖤✨

In all seriousness though, there’s something pretty special about being able to look after the people you love, too. ❤️

Although I’m not sure she realised the facial came with a mandatory catch-up session. 😂😂

🖤 THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME… KAIKOVAE 🖤

Have you ever wondered where the name Kaikovae came from?

It wasn’t a business name generator or something I found on Google. 😂

Kaikovae was created using my kids’ names. It was my way of bringing a little piece of my family into the business I was building.

When I first created the name, I hadn’t yet met my step-son, but he is now part of our family and part of the story behind Kaikovae, too. 🥰

And that’s what makes the name even more special to me.

Kaikovae started as a way to build a career that worked around my family, gave me flexibility and allowed me to be there for my kids.

Five years later, it’s become so much more than a home salon. It’s something I’ve built with my own hands, through plenty of hard work, a few tears, a lot of learning and so many amazing clients. 🖤

So while Kaikovae might just look like a name on a sign to some people…

To me, it will always be a little piece of my family. ✨
