People often ask why I chose cleaning instead of working in an office. My answer is simple: independence.

I am a single mom who needs time with my son. I promised myself that no one else would raise my child, so I took my son to work with me. He does his homework, plays games, or plays outside when the yard is fenced.

I don’t have a boss who controls my time or negative coworkers. With Jah’s help, I am in control of my schedule and the people I choose to work with. I have lost a few clients because children are not allowed, but please understand—I am running a business, not a babysitting service. My child is my priority, and he goes where I work.

He is learning responsibility and a strong work ethic that will shape the man he grows up to be. He’s learning that money doesn’t come easily—it takes hard work. Cleaning is the best choice for me. Not only can I earn an income, but I can also spend quality time with my son while teaching him lifelong lessons.
