When you wear eyelash extensions or false lashes, you must use eye makeup and skin-care products that are oil-free and water-based for the best retention ๐ง The glue keeps your lashes in place, but when in contact with oil it will easily dissolve.
This means you especially want to avoid oil-based products, especially ones that may come in direct contact with your eye area ๐ While youโre wearing strip lashes or eyelash extensions, youโll need to check the labels on all your eye care, skin care, and makeup to see if there are any ingredients that may alter your retention. Who wants that? ๐ฉCheck for oil-based ingredients and glycol or carbonate. These ingredients interfere with the bond between your lash line and your extensions ๐ค

Your natural lash growth determines the amount of time needed to come in for your fill. Having your set look full doesnโt necessarily mean that it isnโt time for a fill, as there are usually many lashes that have grown out by the 3-4 week mark that your lash artist will be able to see during your refill session. These lashes will need to be removed in order for you to maintain healthy lash health! Having outgrown eyelash extensions on your natural lashes will cause excessive weight and pressure to be placed onto your lashes, which will then result in your natural eyelashes falling out unwillingly. 40% is the amount of extensions required for your set to be considered a fill.
Please keep in mind that everyoneโs eyelashes grow at a different pace. There are individuals who may be able to make it 3-4 weeks and be eligible for a fill, but this is not the case for many people! โบ๏ธ

Itโs important to take time to properly clean your lashes to promote general lash health and keep your morning routine working in your favor! If you donโt, makeup, debris and natural skin oil can build up along your lash line and threaten the durability of your lash extension adhesive.
๐บ๐๐๐ ๐: Splash your eyes with lukewarm water. If you wear makeup then gently massage an oil-free makeup remover around your upper and lower lid lines.
๐บ๐๐๐ ๐: Apply an oil-free lash foaming cleanser onto your hand or a clean cleanser brush and gently wash in a downward motion over the eyelid and lash line. Rinse with water until all product is removed.
๐บ๐๐๐ ๐: Gently pat dry the skin around your eyelashes with a lint-free towel or microfiber towel, you can use a fan or the cool setting on a hair drying to speed up the drying process! Lastly, remember to brush through your lashes with a clean mascara wand to separate and fluff once they have dried.
