Hello — it’s been a while, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself. 🤍

My name is Mylynn. I’m a bridal hair and makeup artist based in Calgary and the founder of Makeup by Mylynn.

For the past 10 years, beauty has been my craft. What began as curiosity slowly grew into a deeper fascination with transformation — not the dramatic kind, but the subtle shifts. The kind that make someone stand a little taller, speak a little steadier, and feel more at ease in their own skin. Over time, that curiosity evolved into something much deeper — helping women feel confident and like the best version of themselves in moments that matter most.

My style is soft glam: polished, refined, and intentional. I’m passionate about creating makeup that enhances natural features, balances the face, and photographs beautifully while still feeling like you. Much of my work focuses on thoughtful placement and colour harmony — especially when working with Asian features such as hooded or monolid eyes and varying undertones — so the final look feels balanced, lifted, and seamless both in person and on camera.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of brides and building a team of incredibly talented artists who share the same philosophy of thoughtful, intentional artistry.

Being the daughter of immigrant parents, I grew up watching firsthand what dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance looked like every day. That work ethic shaped the way I approach both my craft and my business, and it continues to guide me today.

I feel incredibly grateful to do what I love and to be trusted with such meaningful moments in people’s lives.

Matching the face to the body is one of the most important parts of bridal makeup.

Many clients naturally have more warmth or depth through the shoulders and chest than in their face. Instead of simply choosing a darker foundation, I use colour theory to balance undertones and bring harmony between the face and body.

Strategic warmth through bronzer placement and carefully selected base shades help create a seamless transition — so the makeup looks natural in person and flawless on camera.

It’s wild how every part of the city brings back a memory. I drove by this area yesterday and instantly thought of this client! A transformation from 2022 came flooding back. It’s crazy how each consultation sticks in my head so clearly. Every bride deserves personalized attention to feel like the best version of herself. As makeup artists, it’s our job to merge the client’s vision and our own expertise in order to successfully collaborate on a look that not only compliments but balances all the right places. The way our team approaches every application will always be purposeful. We will never cookie cutter a look onto your face without thinking about how it will compliment you in the best ways. This is my bride Nikki 🥰. Working with Nikki was an absolute joy! Nikki's radiant complexion and features inspired a look that highlighted her natural beauty, ensuring she felt stunning and confident on her special day. Nikki has super long, thick hair which allowed us to have many options for her bridal hairstyle. Ultimately, our goal was to have something low maintenance that she could comfortably wear and be able to dance in, which this half up down style was perfect for! I have had artists ask me for years to do a class and I’m excited to announce that I will be hosting my very first bridal class in Calgary on Sunday, April 7, where I will be teaching you how to achieve our most requested, Signature “Makeup by Mylynn” Bridal look.

In this makeup class, we will take a dive into bridal beauty. I will be offering you a full learning experience with all you need to know: bridal makeup artistry, behind-the-scenes content creation, building your portfolio and a dip into the business. NOW is the perfect time to invest in YOU before the wedding season officially begins.  With 10+ years of experience in the beauty industry coaching and mentoring 100+ makeup artists, I KNOW that you will fall in love with what I will bring. I have spent years figuring it out on my own, troubleshooting products, struggling with specific client facial features + concerns... bridal business... now it’s time for me to share with you what I know! My priority is to have you leave this class feeling inspired and confident with new techniques and skills you will be able to integrate into your own business and experiences with your clients!

We have been so lucky to also be able to provide swag bags (from all of your fav brands 😍) to every single student attending!
