It’s been a little while since I’ve introduced myself on here, but with the maternity leave, and the social media pause, and everything else I figured it was about time for one - plus the cute baby might win me some bonus points with the algorithm 😉

So here goes:

Hi, I’m Megan - you probably already know that though, given my business name. I just couldn’t come up with a better introduction 🙃

I’m Alberta born and raised, married to my highschool sweetheart (8 years now) and we have 2 little boys - Hunter is 4, and Everett is 9 months. We also have two cats who keep us on our toes as much as the kids do.

I started my career as a hairstylist in 2014, and have been in love with it ever since. My goal from day 1 was to be able to create a home studio - a little sanctuary for me & my guests to hang out and create gorgeous hair while providing a high quality experience in a more intimate setting. And having the opportunity to still be a stay at home mom was just the cherry on top. To say I’ve been living my dream for the last 6 years feels surreal.

I love all things colour - but my most favourite services are everything blonde & dimensional brunettes. Really anything that involves being able to use all the cute foils I keep hoarding 😅

Outside of hair, I’m a coffee addict (like I could give Lorelai Gilmore a run for her money), candle hoarder and a lover of all things cute & cozy. I have a fondness for ‘granny hobbies’ like crochet and canning, and I’m thinking embroidery might be my next venture. I also love being in the kitchen - both cooking & baking, but especially baking. Fall & Christmas are my favourite seasons (yes, Christmas is a season), and I love spending time with my family.

When do you decorate for Christmas?

I’m usually a November 1st girly, but we were all down and out with colds (thanks preschool), so I ended up being a November 8th girly instead this year.

One of my most favourite things to do when the tree is up is to wake up before the kids, turn on the tree and enjoy my coffee. It just feels so peaceful and pretty 🎄

Summer is well and truly under way, and I am seriously loving the sunshine we’re having today ☀️

With that being said, did you know that UV rays can affect not just our skin, but our hair too? Too much sun exposure can result in your hair becoming dry and brittle, as well as causing your colour to fade faster and become more dull.

Just like you would apply sunscreen to your body, you also need to protect your hair!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Starting my second week back in the studio today, and I honestly forgot how much I missed having conversations with other adults 😅

But seriously, I am so grateful for all the grace everyone has extended as I navigate a new schedule and juggling the logistics of working around 2 little ones 🫶🏻

I also just wanted to give a little heads up that June is essentially fully booked. I also have limited availability left for July and August, so I’d recommend getting those appointments scheduled as soon as possible if you were hoping to get on my books this summer!
