Great news for cats & dogs! πŸŽ‰ Ontario has finally banned the cruel practices of declawing, debarking, & ear cropping.

A huge thanks to the animal protection organizations & compassionate Canadians who pushed the government to end this cruelty to companion animals.

Next, let’s add tail docking to the ban: https://bit.ly/4fOsPwn

How about leaving animals alone instead of causing them to suffer. If they don't have a resource, they'll move along. The same goes with coyotes. Don't leave anything out that they can eat.

Recently, our Animal Services team has responded to several calls involving skunks and other wildlife caught in rat traps instead of the intended target.

Unfortunately, rat traps and rodenticides (rat poison) don't affect only rats. They can cause serious injuries or even death to skunks, squirrels, birds, pets, and other wildlife.

If you're dealing with rats on your property, please consider using more humane and wildlife-friendly solutions, such as:
β€’ Removing food and shelter that attract rodents
β€’ Sealing entry points to buildings
β€’ Keeping garbage and compost securely contained
β€’ Working with a pest control professional who uses integrated pest management techniques

A few simple changes can help address rodent issues while protecting the wildlife that shares our community.

The vast majority of kittens/adolescents/adults are from local reserves. The kittens or once kittens were feral and now socialized.

Unfortunately there hasn't been any adoptions. Therefore, BSDRO cannot take anymore in until some are adopted.

If you're looking to make one your family, please fill out the BSDRO form or contact their page.
