The honest answer to "when should we book?" is earlier than most people think.

Second trimester is ideal. Third trimester is the latest we would advise, and that is purely about availability. We staff by nurse, not by volume, so when a due date window fills, it is full.

What people are often surprised by is who the care is actually for. Yes, we care for your baby. We also care for you. Every family receives a one to one postpartum assessment with a Nurse Practitioner, because the person who just gave birth is a patient too, and six weeks is a long time to wait to be asked how you are.

The two reasons we hear most:

You are new to this, and you want someone in the house who can tell the difference between normal and not normal.

Or you already have a child at home, and you know exactly how little sleep is coming.

Both are good reasons. Neither one means you are not coping.

1️⃣ Newborns feed A LOT.
Babies in the newborn phase typically feed every 1.5–3 hours — including overnight.

2️⃣ Know your breast milk timeline.
Freshly expressed breast milk can be kept at room temperature for up to 4 hours.

3️⃣ Know the signs of jaundice.
Especially during the first 7 days, watch for things like fewer wet diapers, lack of stooling, or a baby who is unusually sleepy and difficult to wake for feeds.

The newborn phase comes with a lot to learn. Knowing what to look for can help you feel more prepared. 🫶

“We’ve got you.”

That is what Natasha needed to hear, and it is what our nurses are there to say.

Her full review, with our thanks:
“The newborn stage can be beautiful, but it can also be incredibly overwhelming. You’re exhausted, second-guessing everything, and sometimes just need someone you trust to step in and say, we’ve got you. That’s exactly what SuperNurse provides. Having a trained, registered nurse in your home overnight is more than just getting a few hours of sleep, it’s the reassurance of knowing your baby is in safe, capable hands while you get the rest you desperately need. The nurses are knowledgeable, compassionate, and incredibly attentive. They don’t just care for your baby; they recognize opportunities to educate, support, and empower you as a parent without ever making you feel judged or inadequate. If you’re a new parent wondering whether this kind of support is worth it, it absolutely is. Your baby deserves great care, and you deserve support too.”

Every caregiver is a Nurse licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and a Nurse Practitioner reviews every care plan.

21 weeks and nothing fits.

Today was a full shift at the children’s hospital, then a shoot for SuperNurse, then me on the couch with a bowl of cookie dough and zero regrets.

The version you see on this page is polished. The version behind it is two founders, one of them in stretchy pants, out of breath, filming take eleven in her car.

We are building a company that takes care of new parents while I become one. It is a lot. It is also the whole point.

Tell me the one maternity purchase that saved you.

P.s Yes the cookie dough is safe, it’s Edible dough is made with heat treated flour and no eggs 😉

Told my family I was getting audited by the CRA… just to watch their faces before I dropped the real news: we’re having a baby 🩷!

Worth every second of fake panic. Now if you’ll excuse me, time to book my own consult with SuperNurse 🤣

Those first overnight stretches with a newborn can feel like the longest, most uncertain hours of your life. You’re running on no sleep and second-guessing every little sound.

That’s exactly where we come in.

We’re so grateful to Ashley for sharing her experience. Having a nurse with a real medical background in your home overnight means you actually get to rest, while someone who knows what to watch for cares for your baby and answers the questions that keep you up at night.

If you’re expecting, or you know someone who is, we’d love to talk about what overnight support could look like for your family. Reach out any time at [email protected] or send us a DM.

“What if my baby gets sick during a shift?”

That’s actually one of the advantages of having a credentialed nurse in your home.

Your SuperNurse can assess your baby, monitor for concerning signs, and help determine whether symptoms can be managed at home or need further medical attention.

You get rest, reassurance, and an experienced set of eyes when you need it most.

Parenthood doesn’t come with an instruction manual—but it can come with a nurse. 🤍
