Dry, dull, tangly or brassy hair? Your water could be part of the problem.
Hard water contains minerals like calcium and magnesium that can build up on the hair — especially blondes, colour-treated hair and extensions.
The solution isn't always more conditioner. Sometimes we need to remove the buildup first.
My JNS hard-water routine:
• Matrix Alternate Action to clarify/reset
• Matrix Instacure Anti-Breakage or Build-A-Bond to repair + maintain
• Consider shower filtration — remembering a filter and true water softener are different

Over 70% white and grey hair—and she’s still all about bold colour. 🔥
She wanted a look with personality that would also work with her grow-out. Because she’s developed sensitivities to colour products over the years, we keep her colour in foils.
For this appointment, I used a full head of weave and slice foils, with blocks of rich level 6 brown copper. We’re also growing out her previous gold copper, so this transformation is still in progress.

I touched up her regrowth with a neutral level 5 brown for white hair coverage, then installed 125 grams of 18” curly nano link extensions. They add fullness while blending with her natural curls.

Being a hairstylist means getting a front-row seat to nine completely different lives before dinner. 😭😂
By 9 AM, someone’s leaving him. By noon, we’re analyzing a text like it’s evidence in a trial. By 3 PM, someone’s moving away. By 5 PM, plans have changed again—and I’m just trying to remember whose toner is processing.
I love my clients, but some days I leave the studio feeling like I’ve watched an entire season of reality TV while standing up. ✂️
