A sunny Sunday in Toulouse 💛

The Languedoc has so much fascinating history. After a scenic drive on the Minervois wine route we visited the Royal Quarry with its red and white marble, of which panels grace the Palace of Versailles and were much loved by Louis XIV. The quarry still functions today, producing enormous blocks of marble for export. The town of Caunes-Minervois hosts sculpture workshops, and the artists carve and polish the statues that line the road from the town to the quarry. The blossoms are out in the region too, so a soul-filled day of art and landscapes 💛
