What are milia? 🧐📝

↪️ small, hard, white & round little bumps that are mostly delevoping on the upper cheeks or around the delicate eye area, although they can be found anywhere on the skin.

How does milia form? 🧐 —two ways;

↪️when dead skin cells and keratin get trapped under the outer layer of our skin.

↪️when our skin fails to naturally shed off these dead skin cells/keratin.

How do we treat them? 🧐

↪️Although some can be stubborn and want to stay forever so here’s my best tips on how to prevent & make them disappear;

1- exfoliate your skin regularly, focusing on the areas that tend to form milia.

2- don’t pick at them, there’s no hole for them to come out of this will = scars.

3- book a facial, milia are hard nodules (breakouts) under the skin that can only be removed by lancing—these lovely tools called lancets that esthetician’s use to make a micro hole for the milia to have a way out.

4 years ago today I took a chance on myself and my dreams… 🔑💭

It was scary when I left being an employee
It was scary when I registered my business
Scary when I began renting
Even scarier learning how to run a business

It was scary moving my business to my home studio after only just a few months short of 3 years in operation— the unknown of it all, but just doing it anyway.

People like to ask “How did you know it was the right time to start working for yourself?” “When did you decide it was time to go solo?”

My response? I didn’t, I just knew I wanted to try, so that’s what I did. It never felt like the “right time” and it always felt uncomfortable, but that’s when growth happens.
