Jeremiah 3:1-10
Things to draw from this passage:
1. Your relationship with God is not casual but likened to marriage.
2. Do not take God's steadfast and forgiving nature for granted.

Jer 2:20-37
Spiritual prostitution.
In this scriptural readings, we see that in association with Baal and other gods, Judah broke the covenant bond with Yahweh. we see Judah's unfaithfulness which is likened to adultery. This is demonstrated by two brief illystrations. In one, Judah is likened to a well cultivated vine that has grown wild. In the other, it is likened to a filthy object that no amount of washing can cleanse.
This guides us to reflect on:
-How we have drifted away from God in many aspects of our lives.
- On the idols in our lives that are taking the place of God.
- To reflect on those we are associating with that is causing us not to be faithful to God.
These reflections lead us to put our trust only in God and to turn away from idol worship.

‭Jeremiah 2:13 NIV‬
[13] “My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

So guys we are closing meditations on jer 2:1-8 today.
And we are emphasing on the key things this passage talks about:
1. Idolatry and spiritual adultery: which is when we prioritize worldly desires over God's will.
2. We should know that betrayal is against God's will.
3. We are encouraged as christians to keep our vows and promises we make to God and to people around us.

Jer 2:1-8
God reminds Isreal of the time they shared intimacy and how they have broken it through idolatrous ways. Jeremiah 2:1-8 reveals God's heart of love and longing for his people, isreal. Despite their unfaithfulness, God remembers their devotion in the wilderness and desires to restore their relationship again.
This is our call today as christians that no matter how far gone you are from God's ways. it is never too late to come back. He is willing to restore your relationship again. All you need to do is repent and return to him with a renewed devotion.

This week we will discuss on Jer2: 1-8.
1. Let's talk about spiritual adultery and it's concequences.
2. We will talk about repenting and returning to God with a renewed devotion.
3. We will talk about prioritising our relationship with God above other things

[11] The word of the Lord came to me: “What do you see, Jeremiah?” “I see the branch of an almond tree,” I replied. [12] The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.”
Here is a sign for you to know that God's words and promises will be fulfilled.

[8] Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. [9] Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. [10] See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
