🌍🎉 AFRICAN CHILD’S DAY CELEBRATION 2026 🎉🌍

Today, Awhola children caderk proudly joined children from orphanages and communities across Meme Division to celebrate the African Child’s Day under the theme:

"Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa."

This special occasion reminded us that every child deserves a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment where they can grow, learn, and achieve their dreams. Through fun-filled activities, education on hygiene and sanitation, cultural displays, games, singing, dancing, drama, and interaction with caregivers, we reinforced the importance of clean water, proper sanitation, and good parenting practices in shaping a brighter future for our children.

AWHOLA extends its heartfelt appreciation to MINAS, orphanages, partner NGOs, caregivers, volunteers, and all stakeholders who contributed to making this celebration a success. Together, we shared love, hope, and valuable lessons that will help children develop healthy habits and become responsible citizens.

As we celebrate the African child, let us remember that investing in children is investing in Africa's future. Every child has the right to protection, education, healthcare, clean water, sanitation, and opportunities to thrive.

📢 SENSIBILISATION COMMUNAUTAIRE SUR LA BONNE ÉDUCATION PARENTALE ET LA PROTECTION DES ENFANTS

📍 Leaders Bilingual Nursery and Primary School, Mambanda – Kumba III

Cette semaine, une importante séance de sensibilisation a été organisée à Leaders Bilingual Nursery and Primary School, Mambanda Kumba III, portant sur la bonne éducation parentale et l’importance d’une relation cordiale entre parents et enfants pendant la période des vacances scolaires.
Cette activité a été menée par AWHOLA, dans le but de renforcer la prise de conscience des parents et de la communauté sur la protection et le bien-être des enfants.

À l’approche des vacances, nous rappelons aux parents et tuteurs que cette période n’est pas seulement un moment de repos, mais aussi un temps crucial pour l’encadrement, la surveillance et la protection des enfants.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Messages clés partagés :

✔ L’importance d’une bonne éducation parentale pendant les vacances
✔ La nécessité de renforcer la communication et la confiance entre parents et enfants
✔ Encourager les enfants à s’exprimer librement sans peur ni jugement
✔ Le rôle essentiel des parents dans le suivi des activités quotidiennes des enfants

🚨 Une préoccupation majeure abordée :

Nous avons également sensibilisé sur l’augmentation alarmante des cas de viol et d’abus sexuels sur les tout-petits et les adolescentes dans notre société. Cette réalité inquiétante nécessite une action urgente et collective.

Nous avons rappelé que :

❌ Le silence protège les agresseurs
❌ La sensibilisation et la communication protègent les enfants
❌ Chaque enfant mérite sécurité, dignité et protection

🛡️ Appel à l’action pour les parents :

Connaître les déplacements et les fréquentations de vos enfants
Enseigner aux enfants les règles de sécurité corporelle (“bon toucher / mauvais toucher”)
Créer un environnement familial d’écoute et de confiance
Signaler immédiatement tout comportement suspect

💬 Message aux enfants :

Parle toujours si tu te sens en danger
Ne garde jamais les secrets qui te font du mal
Tu as le droit de dire NON

This week, a very important sensitization session was carried out at Leaders Bilingual Nursery and Primary School, Mambanda Kumba III, by focusing on Good Parenting and the importance of a cordial relationship between parents and children as pupils go on holidays.

As schools close for the holidays, we strongly remind parents and guardians that this period is not only for rest but also a critical time for care, supervision, guidance, and protection of children.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Key Messages Shared:

✔ The importance of good parenting during holiday periods
✔ Building strong, open, and trusting relationships between parents and children
✔ Encouraging children to communicate freely without fear or shame
✔ The role of parents in monitoring and guiding children’s daily activities

🚨 A Serious Concern Addressed:

We also raised awareness on the alarming rise of toddler and teenage girl r**e cases in our society. This disturbing reality calls for urgent collective action from parents, teachers, community leaders, and children themselves.
We emphasized that:

❌ Silence protects offenders
❌ Awareness and communication protect children
❌ Every child deserves safety, dignity, and protection

🛡️ Call to Action for Parents:

Know your children’s movements and companions
Teach children about body safety and “good touch and bad touch”
Create a home environment where children can speak freely
Report any suspicious behavior immediately

💬 Message to Children:

🛑Never keep harmful secrets
🛑You have the right to say NO
