Why do I cut curly hair dry? Because curly hair cannot be treated like straight hair. Every single curl has its own pattern and its own shrinkage. One curl can spring up much more than the curl right next to it.

Especially when I see a client for the first time, I don’t yet know how every curl will behave once it dries. When the hair is dry, I can see the real pattern, the real length and exactly where every curl naturally wants to sit.

That allows me to create the shape while respecting the natural curl pattern — instead of cutting a straight line and hoping it looks right when the hair dries.

A curly haircut isn’t about making every strand the same length. It’s about understanding what every curl will do after it springs back.

Remember that curls don’t behave like straight hair.

One of the most common mistakes I see is using the wrong product—or using the right product at the wrong time.

Not every shampoo has the same purpose, and more products don’t always mean healthier hair.

Here’s a simple guide:

🫧 Gentle Shampoo – for your regular washes. It cleanses your scalp without stripping away moisture.

✨ Clarifying Shampoo – use about once a week (or less, depending on your routine). It removes product build-up, excess oils and prepares your hair to absorb moisture.

💧 Chelating Shampoo – especially helpful if you live in an area with hard water, like Cyprus. It removes mineral deposits that regular shampoos can’t.

🌿 Scalp Peel – a healthy scalp is the foundation of healthy hair. Usually once a week is enough, but always choose a peel that suits your scalp type.

💛 Hair Masks & Conditioner – they don’t do the same job. Choosing the right one depends on your hair’s needs.

✨ Styling Products – different combinations create different results: more definition, more volume or a softer finish.

Every head of hair is different, which is why there isn’t one routine that works for everyone.
