❤️ **A LITTLE UPDATE ON Y & HER BABY — AND ANSWERS TO SOME OF YOUR QUESTIONS** ❤️

Firstly, I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our posts, sent messages or offered to help this young lady. Your kindness really does mean more than you could ever imagine. ❤️

I've received quite a few questions about Y, her situation, what she needs and where your donations are going, so I thought I'd explain everything properly.

❤️ **WHERE IS Y STAYING AT THE MOMENT?**

Y is currently staying in a B&B in Torrevieja, costing **€28 per night**.

She is using some of the money raised from our very first appeal, which was originally donated to help her and her unborn baby.

Of course, we would have loved that money to go towards baby essentials, but right now, having somewhere safe to sleep is the priority.

Imagine being heavily pregnant, having absolutely nobody to turn to, and not knowing where you and your baby are going to call home. 💔

❤️ **DOES SHE KNOW WHETHER SHE'S HAVING A BOY OR A GIRL?**

No, sadly she doesn't.

And I really want people to understand why.

As I've explained previously, Y was effectively held captive by her abuser. She wasn't allowed to come and go freely, wasn't allowed to live a normal life, and if she attempted to leave, she faced violence.

She was kept hidden away, isolated and controlled.

**She went EIGHT MONTHS of her pregnancy without a single midwife appointment.**

Eight months without the medical care, reassurance and support that every pregnant woman deserves.

No normal pregnancy experiences. No freedom to enjoy preparing for her baby. Just fear, control and survival.

So no, she doesn't know the gender. And that is just one of the many things she has been deprived of. 💔

❤️ **DOES Y HAVE ANY FAMILY?**

Sadly, no family she can turn to.

Y lost both her parents when she was younger. Her brother was the only family she had left, but tragically, he also lost his life in a car accident.

She then spent time in foster care until she turned 18, when she was told that she was now an adult, they needed the space, and she had to leave.

Imagine that for a moment.

No mum to call. No dad to give you a cuddle. No brother to protect you. No family home to return to when life falls apart.

And unfortunately, the person she eventually trusted became the person who caused her so much suffering.

This young lady hasn't had an easy start in life. Not even close.

❤️ **WHY DO I CALL HER "Y"?**

I've also been asked why I don't publish her name.

Y is currently involved in ongoing legal proceedings regarding the abuse she suffered.

For her safety, privacy and to avoid potentially affecting those proceedings, **I will NOT be revealing her identity publicly.**

I understand people are curious, but please respect that some information simply cannot be shared.

She has already been through more than enough without having her personal life exposed all over social media.

❤️ **WHAT HAS BEEN DONATED FOR THE BABY SO FAR?** 👶

Thanks to some lovely people, we currently have:

* ✅ A pram

* ✅ A few babygrows and vests

* ✅ Enough baby blankets

* ✅ Enough bibs

But honestly, **we still need practically everything else!**

Nappies, baby wipes, bottles, more baby clothes, toiletries and all those little essentials that you don't realise you need until you're preparing for a newborn.

As we don't know the gender, neutral-coloured items would be absolutely perfect.

❤️ **WHAT ABOUT CLOTHES FOR Y HERSELF?**

Please don't forget that there's a young mum who needs looking after too!

Y is currently wearing approximately:

* **Clothing:** Size Large

* **Height:** Around 5ft

* **Shoes:** EU size 40

I haven't asked her what size she normally wears, as she's heavily pregnant at the moment.

Anything comfortable, practical and suitable for pregnancy or after giving birth would be wonderful.

She deserves to feel cared for too. ❤️

🏡 **OUR BIGGEST GOAL — GETTING Y AND HER BABY INTO THEIR OWN HOME**

This is the part I am desperately hoping we can make happen.

Working alongside the women's support services, we have been trying to secure an apartment for Y and her baby.

Not a luxury apartment. Nothing fancy.

**Just somewhere SAFE. Somewhere she can close the front door and know nobody is going to hurt her.**

Somewhere she can put her baby's clothes away, prepare a little sleeping space, make herself a cup of tea and finally start living without fear.

Y is expecting to receive financial support from the government soon, which should enable her to afford the monthly rent.

And we at A Helping Hand will continue supporting her with food, nappies and essentials wherever we can.

But there's one huge obstacle standing in her way.

**The landlord requires two months' deposit plus the first month's rent upfront.**

That's **€1,200** we need to raise to get her through that front door.

❤️ **HOW MUCH HAVE WE RAISED?**

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have raised:

And I cannot thank you enough!

But we still have a way to go.

We could cover her move-in costs and have some money left towards setting up her home, essential furniture, baby supplies and a little breathing space.

❤️ **THIS IS ABOUT SO MUCH MORE THAN RAISING MONEY.**

This is about giving a young woman who has lost almost everything the chance to finally build something of her own.

It's about letting her experience motherhood without constantly wondering where she's going to sleep tomorrow.

It's about helping a baby enter the world surrounded by kindness rather than fear.

And it's about showing Y that, although she may not have a family to turn to, **she is not alone.**

She may not have a mum, dad or brother standing beside her, but she has a whole community of people who care about what happens to her.

And sometimes, family isn't always about blood. Sometimes it's about the people who show up when you need them most. ❤️

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

**We cannot change what has happened to Y. We cannot give her back the family she has lost or erase what she has suffered. But together, we CAN help change what happens next.**

And wouldn't it be wonderful if the next chapter of her life was finally a happy one?
