Despite the difficulties, I am very grateful of the few days of vacation I got to enjoy last week in Competa (yes, it nearly counts as a staycation!).

One moment you can be on top of the world... And the next moment eating dirt 🤕

Humpty dumpty had a little tumble on day 2 of the Competa Hiking Festival (ironically after finishing the trek) and did a little damage to the right ankle. This silly egg will have to miss the last two days of hiking and some upcoming high mileage of her marathon training block 🥾 No big damage, just some swelling and bruising (I fell of a loose rock, not off the mountain!)

But you will see me around. All time dedicated to training will now go to coffee and cakes. You can volunteer to join me in the comments of via a DM.

Epic bike and hiking adventures earlier this month! 🚵‍♀️🥾⛰️

First, a ride taking us up to Trevélez, the highest village in the Alpujarra, followed the next day by a hike to the summit of Mulhacén, the highest mountain on the Iberian Peninsula!

The tired legs have since recovered… and we’re ready for the next adventure! 💪🏼

This weekend I had the joy of climbing up a big hill with a group of strong men (and a couple of strong women!) in the heat of the late morning…. Who else prefers suffering in group? ☠️🥵

After climbing up the Subida a Castillejos (11.3km, +702m, 00:49:28), I was greeted as the second woman to the top!��🏆
