A woman once sought help from a wise elder because her stepson disliked her. She wanted a charm to make him love her.

The elder told her to bring him a whisker from a living lion. Though afraid, the woman began visiting a lion every day, leaving food at a distance. Slowly, she gained the lion’s trust. Day by day, she came closer until she could gently pluck a whisker.
She returned proudly to the elder, but he threw the whisker into the fire.

Angry, she demanded to know why. The elder smiled and said, “You have learned patience, courage, and kindness. Use those same qualities with your stepson.”

The woman did so—and over time, the boy came to love her.

Lesson: Patience and kindness can solve even the hardest problems.
