We had a fantastic time watching Night of the demon at the gorgeous for the brilliant book launch. If you haven’t got this book then go out and buy a copy. It’s fantastic. All your favourite horror movies. And a great Q&A with and
Pinocchio unstrung. Here’s a small behind the scenes of the creatures we made for the film. They’re ’blink and you miss them’ moments. A lot of time and effort went into making them. Each creature was sculpted by and shaune. Due to the limited budget we had to make these, we had to think a bit differently on how to put them together. We built 3 in total. Then we set fire to one which was a shame but it had a fiery death. (And nearly the cameraman too) 😳 health and safety on low budget films eh… did the mechanical side of it for us. Thanks Mo. .todd
Some more prosthetics we did for Pinocchio Unstrung. This makeup was quite a big undertaking. We started off with a single cheek prosthetic with a muscle underlayer. Then as the scene progressed we added more prosthetics to face. 2 cheek pieces and a full forehead piece. We then made a full silicone chest prosthetic which gets slashed open. We made a full silicone fake torso with breathing lungs and a beating heart. It looked great in the film and super bloody. The makeup was applied by and myself. Makeup on the day by who did a great job of the facial bruising.
Pinocchio Unstrung. The death of Trey. This was a fun FX to do. We lifecasted the actor . He’s such a lovely person. We had to ‘skin’ him for Pinocchio to wear his skin. His silicone skin was attached to .todd wonderful animatronic puppet. Big thanks to for onset makeup for Trey. Lifecasted by and myself. Face made by myself. Go and watch Pinocchio.
Pinocchio Unstrung. More Prosthetic FX that we did for the film. The death of Georgia in the swimming pool. Played by this prosthetic was sculpted by and applied and painted by Paula and myself. Annoyingly we couldn’t add any blood to the prosthetic as the filmmakers rented out a swimming pool, so we couldn’t get a drop in. We also made the breakable arm rig for when Pinocchio kicks her arm. Then she wore a prosthetic arm snap sculpted by . Again we couldn’t add any blood to her arm. This was a fun gag to do. .todd
