Spend the day with me: botox edition! My bladder issues are no secret but it’s also not something I speak about much on here either! Every six months or so I travel to London to have botox injected into my bladder - this paralyses the muscles making it easier to catheterise (less angry spasms) and prevents any accidents!

Lots of waiting around when I have Botox so this times entertainment was finishing off Nightshade by .author and of course my mum by my side to help me through it all (as i’m sure you’re all aware those stockings are a PAIN to get on)

After my Botox is done I have my lunch, have a wee then I’m on my way home! 💘

It’s the end of July & Disability Pride Month! I wasn’t able to make as much content as I’d of liked (it’s been a very busy month) but I did put together my favourite books by disabled authors!

In no particular order:
1) It’s All In Your Head, by Sabina Nordqvist Sabina Nordqvist | Romance Author
2) Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert Talia Hibbert 🇵🇸
3) Out On A Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young Hannah Bonam-Young
4) Melting For You by Tegan Phillips Tegan Phillips
5) Who Wants Normal? by Frances Ryan Frances Ryan
6) Disability Visibility, by Alice Wong Alice Wong

Spinal Fusion Advice & Tips💅🏻

1) Bring your comfort items! For me it was always my elephant (nellie) who has been through every single surgery with me & a blanket from home.

2) Thing to do: usually if you’re on the kids ward the play specialist has lots of things to keep you occupied but it’s still worth bringing a few bits of your own. e.g. iPad/tablet, books etc.

3) Haircare: wash your hair prior to surgery and braid it, it keeps it out your way and prevents any knotting/matting

4) Comfy clothing, such as; nighties and button up pjs for easy access to your back and/or catheter if you have one. Don’t forget to pack some comfy clothes to go home in!
