My treatment menu has got smaller over the years.

And actually, I think that’s a good thing.

Not because I’m not interested in what’s new. I love learning, trying new techniques and bringing something into ALW when it genuinely excites me.

I just don’t feel the need to offer every treatment simply because it’s the latest thing.

I’ve become much clearer about the treatments I genuinely enjoy doing, the things I want to keep learning and getting better at, and ultimately, what I want ALW to be known for.

I love treatments that make the most of what you already have.

Not every brow needs laminating. Sometimes a really good wax and tint is exactly what you need.

With a lash lift, I’m working with your own natural lashes their length, density and the way they naturally grow to get the best from what’s already there.

And skincare is becoming an even bigger part of ALW too.

I’m much more interested in bringing you luxurious, science-led skincare with beautiful results, alongside something I think we could all do with a little more of…

Time to switch off.

Sometimes that will mean coming into the studio for a treatment, closing your eyes and letting somebody else look after you for a while.

And increasingly, it will also mean coming together for skincare and wellbeing experiences beautiful products, skincare rituals, breathwork, gentle movement or stillness, conversation and simply a little time away from everything else.

Because the more ALW evolves, the more I realise I don’t just want to create somewhere you come to have something done.

I want to create a studio you actually look forward to coming to.

Somewhere you can have your lashes or brows done. Discover skincare that works for you. Come along to an experience. Switch off for a while. And leave feeling that little bit better than when you walked in.

So no, I don’t offer every beauty treatment.

But what I am creating at ALW feels much more like me. 🤍

Sat in the glorious sunshine today, having a meeting about Temple Spa and it felt like a real full-circle moment.

I’ve worked with other professional beauty brands over the years, but Temple Spa is the one I’ve always come back to and continued to use personally.

For me, it’s about so much more than skincare.

It’s the luxurious textures, the scents, the science-driven results, the attention to detail in the packaging and the wellbeing ethos behind the company.

It’s everything I love in a brand.

This time, I’m approaching it with a very different vision: exploring how Temple Spa can thread naturally through everything I’m now building at the studio.

Sometimes the timing just has to be right and it has never felt more aligned than it does now to bring a brand I love into everything I’m creating, not just within beauty but beyond. 🤍

You might have more lash than you think

If your natural lashes grow straight out or downwards, you can lose sight of just how much length is actually there.

That’s one of the things I love about a lash lift, nothing is added.

It’s simply about lifting your own lashes so they’re more visible and defined.

And sometimes the difference can be surprising.

No extensions.
No infills.
Just your own natural lashes, lifted. 🤍

And if you prefer to have everything done in one appointment, your lash lift can also be combined with your brow treatment.

I’ve been pretty quiet on this page for a while… and I think I’ve finally worked out why.

I’m Amanda, I’m 49, and I’ve worked in beauty for years.

But somewhere along the way, my own relationship with beauty changed and I don’t think this page changed with me.

I still love beauty.

I still want good skin.
I still love having my brows done, putting my lashes on and those little things that make me feel more put together.

But what beauty means to me at 49 is different to what it meant ten or twenty years ago.

I’m not trying to look 25.

I’m far more interested in looking after myself, feeling good in my own skin and choosing the things that make a difference to me.

And when I look at the women who actually come through my studio door, so many of them are in a similar place.

Yet somewhere along the way I think I’d started trying to create the kind of beauty page I thought I should have rather than one that actually reflected me and the women I work with.

And honestly, I think that’s probably why I stopped posting.

So I’m changing that. 🤍

There’ll still be lashes.
There’ll still be brows.
There’ll be skincare, treatments, products I genuinely love and probably a few conversations about the beauty things I just can’t be arsed with anymore 😂

But mostly, I want this page to start reflecting what beauty actually looks like for me now and for the women I see every week.

Because getting older doesn’t mean we stop caring about how we look.

Maybe we just get a little clearer about what actually makes us feel good.

So if you’re somewhere around this stage of life too, I think you might like where ALW is going. 🤍

Hi 👋 I’m Amanda lash and brow tech.

A qualified and certified ICF life coach, mum of two teenagers and a very spoiled French bulldog that we absolutely adore.

Alcohol free by choice for over 5 years and never felt better for it.🥳🥳

Gym, yin yoga and Pilates reformer are my thing, “running” we have a love, hate relationship most of the time( hate it in the moment, but absolutely love the feeling after it’s done 🤷‍♀️🤣🤣)
