I’m all for a transition👀

I get asked quite a lot what got me into massage and beauty… and honestly, the truth is, I fell into it😂

I started off as an acting student, getting all into musical theatre. I was offered an amazing opportunity, but I picked a boy instead… 😂 From there, I found myself in and out of jobs I really didn’t enjoy — energy consultant, sales, security, electronic host, pub work… you name it!

Eventually, I decided I wanted to start again and do something I could actually turn into a career.

So, at 23, with a one-year-old, I went back to college to study beauty. A full-time course and a one-year-old was, as you can imagine, HARD work to juggle.

I also paid £650 for a lash course to do alongside college, just so I could bring in a bit of extra money… and that’s where it all started.

I went on to complete my Level 3 Beauty and completely fell in love with massage. I competed at Level 2 and Level 3, coming 1st place multiple times. And I think that was the first time I really thought, “Oh… I’m actually good at this — and other people think I am too!”

I then started my first spa job at Slaley Hall Spa, where I stayed for a few years. While I was there, I completed my Award in Training and Education because my original goal was to eventually teach beauty in a college.

But after my interview, it wasn’t quite what I imagined, so I decided to explore a different avenue.

And that’s when I decided to branch out on my own… and Black Label Beauty was born.

Black Label Beauty has my heart for so many reasons.

It’s given me the opportunity to build something that’s completely mine, create a career around the life I want, and most importantly, have a better balance for me and my little boy.

I get to decide where I take it, what I offer, who I work with and what kind of experience I want people to have when they walk through my door.

There’s a LOT that goes on behind the scenes that people don’t see, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

What started as me simply trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life has turned into something I’m incredibly proud to call my own. 🖤

And honestly… I’m only just getting started

Hi, I’m Laura — the owner of Black Label Beauty. 👋🏼

I created BLB with a bigger purpose than just beauty.

I want to use my knowledge, experience and passion to help people feel confident, empowered and amazing in themselves — inside and out. ✨

For me, it’s about creating an experience where you feel looked after, listened to and leave feeling like the best version of yourself.

I’m also a mam to a nearly 6-year-old, so behind the business is a very real juggle of being a business owner and a mam.

Some days it’s appointments, content and admin. Other days it’s school runs, dinner and replying to messages whenever I get five minutes 😂

Building a business while raising a little one isn’t always easy, but I’m incredibly proud of what I’m building with Black Label Beauty. 🖤
