A lot of the people I see have been thinking about treatment for a while, but they still have reservations.

They might be curious, but worried about looking different. Interested, but not sure whether treatment is really for them. Or simply wanting an honest opinion before they make any decision at all.

That’s completely fine.

You don’t need to arrive knowing what you want, and you certainly don’t need to arrive ready to book.

A consultation is a chance to talk through what you’ve noticed, ask the questions you’ve been sitting on and understand what your options are.

Sometimes that leads to treatment. Sometimes it doesn’t.

Either way, you’ll leave feeling clearer than when you came in.

We can make surprisingly big judgements about our faces from terrible evidence…

…a close-up selfie, an unflattering angle, harsh lighting…

Phone cameras at close range distort proportions, and don’t represent how another person actually sees your face.

So, please don’t let one photograph convince you that you need treatment.

But if there is something that’s bothering you, do come in and talk about before you decide there’s a problem to solve.

That tells me far more than asking for a treatment by name ever could.

In fact, many people arrive at a consultation unsure what treatment they need or how to describe the result they’re hoping for.

But they often know they don’t want to look frozen, overfilled or noticeably different. They don’t want to lose the features and expressions that make them look like themselves.

That’s genuinely helpful.

It tells me what “natural” means to you, how much change you would feel comfortable with and whether any treatment you’ve been considering is actually the right fit.

You don’t need to arrive with a plan or know the correct terminology. Tell me what you’ve noticed, what you’re unsure about and what you’d be unhappy to see in the mirror.

We can work from there together.

Years in dentistry shaped far more than the way I look at a smile.

Dentistry requires a detailed understanding of facial anatomy, a steady hand and the ability to work with real precision in an area where even very small changes matter.

It also teaches you to think about structure, proportion and how one part of the face relates to another, rather than looking at any feature in isolation.

All of that carries directly into my approach to aesthetics.

When I assess someone, I’m thinking about balance, what will suit their face and how to achieve a result that still feels completely like them.

I’m also drawing on years of explaining procedures clearly, helping nervous patients feel comfortable and knowing when the best approach is to do less, or not to treat at all.

Being a dentist doesn’t simply sit alongside my aesthetics work. It shapes the way I approach every consultation and every treatment.

The change you notice may have started somewhere else.

You may come in concerned about a line beside your mouth or a little heaviness around your lower face, but that doesn’t automatically tell me where treatment should focus.

Changes in one area can be connected to changes elsewhere. Treating only the place that catches your eye may not give you the balanced, natural-looking result you had in mind.

That’s why I take time to look at your face as a whole, both at rest and as you move. I’ll also ask what you’ve noticed, what bothers you and what you would like to achieve.

The aim is to create a considered plan that suits your face, even when that means looking beyond the area you first noticed.

A consultation is simply a chance for us to look together, talk through the options and decide what feels right for you.

I’d tell you that being nervous doesn’t mean treatment isn’t for you.

Lots of people are curious about treatment but worried about injections. It simply means you need someone who’ll take the time to help you feel at ease.

As a dentist, helping anxious patients feel safe and comfortable is a big part of what I do. I’ll explain everything properly, check in with you throughout and give you as much time as you need.

We can also talk through treatments that don’t involve injections, because there may be more options than you realise.

Most importantly, you’ll never be rushed or talked into anything. A consultation is simply a chance to ask questions, understand what’s available and decide what feels right for you.

It's becoming harder to know what's normal…

Spend enough time on social media and it's easy to lose sight of what healthy skin actually looks like.

Healthy skin isn't perfectly smooth. It changes from one day to the next. It has texture. It looks different depending on the light, your sleep, your hormones and a hundred other things.

That's why I always consider skin quality during consultations.

Once you understand what healthy skin really looks like, it's much easier to choose treatments that genuinely improve your skin, rather than trying to achieve something that never really existed in the first place.

There's been a noticeable shift in aesthetics over the last few years…

When I first started practising, conversations were much more likely to focus on treating individual areas.

Now, I'm just as interested in the quality of the skin itself.
