Your skin isn’t static, so your treatments shouldn’t be either. ✨

I take the time to understand your skin and tailor each facial to its needs on the day, with a focus on supporting long-term skin health.

No one-size-fits-all routines. Just a considered approach to your skin.

Based in Scartho, Grimsby.

Your skin isn’t a template, so why should your skincare be? ✨

At Fresh Faced, every treatment is tailored to your skin’s individual needs, because understanding your skin comes before deciding what to do to it.

Oily but tight? You might not need to control the oil … you might need to support the skin barrier!

Understanding why your skin is behaving the way it is can change everything.

Your skin doesn’t need to be fought with. It needs to be understood.

There’s so much focus on individual skincare ingredients.

But the more I learn about skin, the more interested I’ve become in how those ingredients are actually formulated and whether they’re going to work comfortably with your skin.

Because something can be considered “good for your skin” and still not necessarily be right for your skin.

That’s why I don’t believe in recommending products simply because they’re popular, trending or generally considered beneficial.

I’d much rather understand your skin first, then choose what actually makes sense for you.

Your skin isn’t one-size-fits-all and your skincare shouldn’t be either.

A little skincare shelf update!

I’m really excited to finally have this range in my treatment room.

What excites me most isn’t simply the products themselves, but the ability to create a much more individual approach to skincare.

Your skin doesn’t stay the same, so I don’t believe your treatment or homecare should either.

This is the beginning of a slightly different way of working at Fresh Faced, one centred around understanding your skin, supporting its natural function and building healthier, more resilient skin over time.

A facial doesn’t really begin when you walk through the door.

There’s the preparation beforehand.
The little details that make the space feel comfortable.
The time spent getting everything ready before you even lie down.

Because for me, the treatment isn’t just about what happens during those 60, 75 or 90 minutes.

It’s about creating an experience that feels considered from beginning to end. 🤍

Why do Corneotherapists Avoid Certain Treatments?

Not all professional treatments are corneotheraputic.

One of the biggest changes in my approach to skin has been questioning the need to constantly exfoliate, remove or stimulate.

The skin already has its own incredible processes for maintaining and renewing itself.

So rather than asking:
“What can I remove from this skin?”

I’m learning to ask:
“What does this skin need to function well?”

For me, that means moving away from treatments that deliberately disrupt the skin’s protective structure, and towards supporting the processes the skin is already designed to carry out.

I didn’t choose to train in Corneotherapy because I wanted to do more to the skin.

If anything, it was the opposite.

The more I’ve learned about skin, the more I’ve questioned the idea that we always need to push it harder to see results.

My own experience with reactive skin has also made me much more interested in understanding why skin behaves the way it does, rather than constantly trying to correct what I can see on the surface.

That’s what drew me towards Corneotherapy.

An approach that puts skin health, barrier function and understanding the individual condition of the skin at the centre.

I’m still learning. I’m still building this into Fresh Faced.

But the more I learn, the more it feels aligned with the kind of skin therapist I want to be.

So, what actually is Corneotherapy?

You may have heard me mention this word a little more recently, and there’s a reason for that.

Corneotherapy is an approach to skin health that looks beyond simply treating what we can see on the surface.

It considers the skin as a living, responsive organ, and places a real emphasis on the Stratum Corneum, the skin barrier, and creating the right conditions for the skin to regulate, repair and function well.

And honestly, this way of thinking has really changed how I look at skin.

Rather than asking:
“What can I do to change this?”

I’m becoming much more interested in asking:
“What does this skin actually need?”

Sometimes that might mean treating.
Sometimes it might mean supporting.
Sometimes it might mean doing less for a while.

The important thing is understanding why.

I’m still learning and developing this approach behind the scenes at Fresh Faced, but I’m really excited to start bringing you along as I explore it more. 🤎

If you’ve never heard of Corneotherapy before, save this post.
