🚨 𝐌𝐘𝐓𝐇 𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆: “𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐭!”

Well… 𝐲𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨! 😂

One of the biggest misconceptions about personalised products and branded workwear is that you can simply send a picture, press a button and it’s ready to go.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite work like that! 😉

💻 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐲, an image needs to be 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭. The artwork has to be converted into a stitch file that my embroidery machine can understand. It isn’t simply printing the picture with thread!

🖨️ 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, the artwork needs to be prepared into the correct file format and resolution so that it prints 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧, 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥. A photo or screenshot isn’t necessarily print-ready.

✂️ Depending on the design, the artwork may also need cleaning up, resizing, removing backgrounds, adjusting colours or making other changes before it can be produced.

So when you see me preparing artwork before I start making your item, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧! 😂

There’s actually quite a bit of work that happens behind the scenes to make sure the finished product looks as good as it possibly can.

The reality? I don’t necessarily have more free time — I have the freedom to choose what I do with my time. And this week, I’ve certainly been choosing to keep busy!

For those who don’t know me, I’m Theresa, the owner of Everythingpersonalised4U, where I create personalised products and branded workwear for individuals, families, businesses and events.

So, what have I actually been up to this week?

✨ Booking pop-ups
✨ Organising my second 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭, taking place on 13th September
✨ Working behind the scenes on 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 that I’m developing for my business — both taking me in very different directions 👀

And then there’s the weekend…

Contrary to popular belief, weekends aren’t necessarily weekends when you’re self-employed! 😂

For me, weekends are often work days too, especially as this is when the majority of my 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭-𝐮𝐩 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 go out. And that can also mean balloon decor, backdrops and table settings — so there’s plenty of loading, delivering, setting up and collecting involved.

But do you know what? 𝐈 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭. ❤️

I choose to build my businesses.
I choose to try new things.
I choose to keep learning and developing.
And I choose to create something that I’m genuinely proud of.

There’s a lot more to being self-employed than people see from the outside… but that’s also what makes it so rewarding.
