I think it is another pyjama day for me. I am working on my laptop, as I did a little on my laptop yesterday, downloading and extracting new files to my external hard drive.
Hoping next week to do a spot of clearing in the garden with the buddleigh, which I have been trying to get rid of for many years in my small garden.

Was busy washing up and I sprayed some wasp and fly killer on my window ledge and out the window and then all of a sudden our smoke detector went off something had got hot it was the hallway and the lounge and I opened the window and I turned things off. But the alarms where not going off in my room or Dan's room and we made sure that Dan hit the button a bit later I will vacuum the smoke detectors. And yesterday I could not get warm thing it might be to do with the heating or something like that and we do need to hoover in the lounge.
On Friday they will be coming and changing our Electric meter so that the gas meter works properly and the on the 8th of August the water meter will be changed as well.
We are almost on top of the ants. See less

We have been having fun with the ants, trying to get rid of them and working out where they were coming in from. Today, I took all the jars and tins out from my pantry and wiped them down with a Dettol disinfection solution, and we did do some steam cleaning as well yesterday. We have been vacuuming up as much as possible and getting rid of any food scraps in our food waste bin and emptying bins regularly. Now shattered and will do a bit more tomorrow as well as tackling the garden as well. See less

Even in the heat, we have moved furniture and books in piles to about from the cookbooks around, and we took the big picture down. It is very heavy. I am going to wrap it up and take it down to the storage unit. I also made sure that the food scrap bin was emptied, and it is soaking with some Dettol in it. And only a couple of bits that need washing up. We did find a few ants on the windowsill in the lounge, so I put some ground cinnamon, as they do not like that. A few bugs are dying with the heat. I do have some plug-in insect traps that have lights on them and sticky bits, and they are catching moths quite well.
We will sort some more bits tomorrow as well. See less

Something weird just happened in our home. Our Hotel Chocolat machine, which does hot and cold, was plugged in with nothing in it, and the switch on the wall was on, but I heard a noise, went into the kitchen, and it was turned on, which is strange. I unplugged it and switched the switch on the wall off, and then just put some water into it and plugged it back in, put its lid on, and switched it on to see if it was working. And that the motor had not burnt out. See less
