Frown Lines 🪄
Botox is a purified protein injected into the muscles between your eyebrows (the corrugator and procerus muscles). It temporarily relaxes these muscles to smooth out the vertical “11 lines” or “scowl lines” that appear when you frown, preventing them from deepening.

What is Botox and how does it work?
Botox (botulinum toxin) works as a muscle relaxant. When injected into the forehead, it temporarily blocks nerve signals to the frontalis muscle. This prevents the muscle from contracting when you make facial expressions, allowing the overlying skin to smooth out and preventing deep wrinkles from deepening.
How it works on your face:
Chemical Block: Botox blocks the release of a chemical messenger called acetylcholine. Without this signal, the forehead muscles cannot tense up or “bunch” the skin.
Dynamic vs. Static Lines: It is most effective on “dynamic wrinkles” (lines that appear when you move your face, like raising your eyebrows). By keeping the muscles relaxed, it also softens existing static lines (lines visible at rest) and prevents new ones from etching into the skin.
Timeline: You will typically start seeing the effects within 3 to 5 days, with full results visible by day 14.
Duration: The results are temporary, typically lasting between 3 to 4 months before muscle movement gradually returns.
