Microneedling Depths Explained
“How deep are the needles going?”
With SkinPen, the depth is not one-size-fits-all. We adjust the needle depth depending on the area being treated, your skin and what we’re looking to improve.
🤎 0.25–0.5mm
A more superficial treatment, often suitable for delicate areas and overall skin stimulation.
🤎0.5–1.0mm
A moderate depth used for a range of skin concerns and areas, depending on the individual.
🤎1.0–1.5mm+
Deeper treatment may be appropriate for concerns such as acne scarring and more pronounced texture, where a stronger collagen-remodelling response is desired.
But deeper doesn’t mean better!
The aim is to use the appropriate depth for YOUR skin and your treatment goal, rather than simply going as deep as possible.
SkinPen = controlled, customised collagen stimulation — not “the deeper, the better.”
