Healing isn’t a race. It’s a journey.

One of the most important parts of post-surgical lymphatic drainage isn’t just having the treatment—it’s having continuity of care.

Working with one therapist throughout your recovery means they get to know you. They learn how your body heals, where you naturally hold fluid, what feels normal for your tissue, and they notice when something changes. They know your lumps, bumps, tight areas and progress, allowing every treatment to be tailored to exactly what your body needs that day.

Lymphatic drainage isn’t just about reducing swelling or creating a sculpted result. It’s about supporting healing. It’s about encouraging your lymphatic system to do what it was beautifully designed to do. Our bodies are incredibly clever—we often don’t give them enough credit. They know how to heal; sometimes they just need a little helping hand.

This lovely client won’t mind me saying she arrived feeling completely overwhelmed. She was mentally struggling with her recovery, had been told she wasn’t yet ready for drainage, and was carrying so much fluid and trapped air that she was in tears with discomfort. Her healing had stalled, and she was facing pain that nobody should have to navigate alone.

Fast forward just two months, with weekly lymphatic drainage, a personalised recovery plan and plenty of support, and she is now enjoying the rewards of all her hard work. She looks incredible, but more importantly, she feels incredible.

Throughout her entire journey, no wooden tools were used—just skilled hands, careful assessment and treatments that respected every stage of healing.

If you’re recovering from surgery, please remember this…

You don’t have to do it alone.

There was a time when I thought…

ā€œIf I could just get fully booked, everything would feel easier.ā€

The reality is, being fully booked doesn’t make the pressure disappear. It just changes what the pressure looks like.

There’s the responsibility of showing up for every client.
The admin that nobody sees.
The endless learning to make sure I’m always giving the best I can.
The worrying, the planning, the self-doubt that creeps in now and then.

But here’s the thing…

I wouldn’t change it.

Because every booking is someone choosing me. Trusting me. Supporting the little business I built from the ground up.

I’m incredibly grateful, even on the hard days.

If you’re running a small business, just know that it’s okay to be proud of how far you’ve come while also admitting that it’s not always easy. Both can exist at the same time.

And to every single person who has booked, recommended me, shared a post, or simply believed in me… thank you. You are the reason I get to do what I love every single day.

POV: You booked a 30-minute consultation…

What actually happened:

āœ”ļø We talked about your skin.
āœ”ļø We talked about your life.
āœ”ļø We solved a few world problems.
āœ”ļø You booked your treatment plan.
āœ”ļø We laughed.
āœ”ļø Maybe cried a little.
āœ”ļø And somehow… you’re now coming for Christmas.

Jokes aside, this is exactly why I love what I do.

My consultations have never just been about skin. They’re about understanding you.

Your lifestyle, your health, your worries, your confidence, your goals… because all of those things matter when it comes to getting the best results.

No pressure.
No judgement.
No rushed appointments.

Just a safe space where you can be completely yourself.

(Christmas invitations are still under review… šŸŽ„šŸ˜‚)

This is exactly why I don’t recommend microneedling at home.

I receive messages like this far more often than I’d like…

ā€œI’ve microneedled my face and now it’s dry, scratched and doesn’t look anything like the results I see online.ā€

Microneedling isn’t just rolling needles over your skin. It’s a medical skin treatment that should be tailored to your skin, on that day.

Before I even begin, I’m assessing your skin barrier, hydration, inflammation, acne, sensitivity, pigmentation risk, Fitzpatrick skin type, medical history and whether your skin is actually suitable for treatment.

Every one of those factors changes how I treat you.

I also choose the correct needle depth based on your skin, the treatment area and your goals.

Deeper isn’t better.

Too much depth, pressure or treating too frequently can damage the skin barrier, prolong redness, increase pigmentation risk and actually delay collagen remodelling.

Collagen is created through controlled injury—not trauma.

Every treatment in my clinic uses sterile, single-use cartridges, a professional medical-grade device, strict infection control, appropriate sterile products and tailored aftercare.

Many at-home devices can’t verify needle quality, true depth or sterility. Poor-quality needles can drag through the skin instead of creating clean micro-channels.

And while hypochlorous acid sprays can support skin hygiene, they don’t make a home treatment sterile. Sterility comes from the entire clinical process—not one product.

My priority will never be the deepest treatment.

It will always be protecting your skin barrier.

Sometimes that means treating gently.

Sometimes it means postponing treatment.

Because beautiful skin isn’t built by being aggressive.

It’s built through consistency, patience and respecting your skin.

I treat every client’s skin exactly as I would treat my own.

A little ā€œget to know me more šŸ¤

I realised there are lots of new faces here lately, so I thought it was probably time to tell you a little bit about me.

So Hello … I’m Lisa, owner of BARE, and if you’ve been here a while, you’ll know I can talk about skin for hours. It’s genuinely my biggest passion, and helping people feel confident in their own skin is something I’ll never stop loving.

But outside the clinic…

I’m 45, a very proud mum of four, slightly obsessed with designer handbags, and firmly believe that every occasion should be celebrated with good food šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I absolutely love travelling… although I spend the entire flight wondering why I ever booked it in the first place. āœˆļøšŸ˜‚

You’ll find hundreds of sunset photos on my phone, Romeo the Frockapoo and Sully the Sphynx cat following me around the house, and if I say ā€œYes, let’s do that!ā€ā€¦ there’s a good chance I’m going to stay home instead. šŸ˜‚

I’m also a massive oversharer, secretly love gardening, and if we ever meet in clinic, you’ll quickly realise there are very few awkward silences with me!

One thing that will never change is the reason I started BARE.

I wanted to create a space where you could come in, feel comfortable, never feel judged or pressured, and leave feeling more confident than when you arrived. No hard sell, no unrealistic promises—just honest advice, education, and treatments that put your skin first.

If you’ve made it this far… thank you for being here. It honestly means more than you know.

Now it’s your turn… tell me one random fact about yourself in the comments. I’d love to get to know you too. šŸ¤

I swear this is why I have such strong collar bones, I do this daily for a couple of minutes and people are always asking .. how do you get your jaw so sculpted.. your collar bones are amazing ... daily lymphatic drainage like these simple steps keep your lymphatic system healthy and moving, keeping fluid retention and puffiness at bay ... I get puffy, I get swollen especially in warmer weather, doing this daily can really help. Consistency is key.

Did you know your lymphatic system doesn’t have its own pump? It relies on movement, deep breathing and gentle stimulation to keep lymph fluid flowing.

By gently stimulating the supraclavicular lymph nodes (just above your collarbones) and the axillary lymph nodes (under your arms) each day, you’re encouraging lymph to drain more efficiently through the body’s natural pathways.

This can help reduce fluid retention, facial puffiness, fullness around the jawline, neck and underarm area, leaving your natural contours looking more defined. It’s important to remember this isn’t fat loss—it’s helping your body clear excess fluid more effectively.

Just a few minutes a day can support your lymphatic system, reduce that heavy, puffy feeling and help reveal a naturally more sculpted appearance.
