πŸŒΏπŸ’š LITTLE HULTON – STRONGER TOGETHER! πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

What a fantastic morning in our community! πŸ™ŒπŸ—‘οΈπŸŒ±

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out today and joined Heads Up Gentlemen for our Community Litter Pick. It was brilliant to see people giving up their Sunday morning to help make Little Hulton cleaner, greener and somewhere we can all be proud of! πŸ’šπŸ‘

A massive shout-out to our partners in crime, Walkden in Bloom 🌻🌸, the wonderful residents and team from Kenyon Lodge Care Home Amanda Wild πŸ‘πŸ’š and of course our amazing Nurturing Hands Childcare Kerrie Cooke & Little Hulton community for getting stuck in! πŸ§€πŸ—‘οΈπŸ‘

These litter picks are about so much more than picking up rubbish. Getting outdoors, moving, having a laugh, meeting new people and having a good conversation can make such a difference to our mental health and wellbeing. πŸ§ πŸ’šπŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸŒΏ

And when we all work together, we're not just cleaning streets β€” we're building friendships, community spirit and a stronger Little Hulton. πŸ€πŸ’š

Each time we do this, we want it to get bigger and stronger, with more residents, families, community groups and local organisations joining us. πŸ’ͺ🌍

And finally, a very special thank you to Gillian Charnock at Cyn’s Tavern Public House β˜•πŸͺπŸ’š for looking after everyone afterwards with the much-needed brews, tea and coffee! Nothing beats a good brew and a chat after a morning's work! πŸ˜‚β˜•πŸ‘

This is what community is all about.
Neighbours helping neighbours. People connecting. Everyone doing their little bit. πŸ’š

🌱 Cleaner streets.
🀝 Stronger community.
🧠 Better wellbeing.

πŸŒ±πŸŒΈπŸ’š THIS IS WHAT COMMUNITY IS ALL ABOUT! πŸ’šπŸŒΈπŸŒ±

Heads Up Gentlemen would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the wonderful Mark Frith and everyone connected with:

🌿 Buile Hill Park Seedley Pavilion Community Café, Gardens & Allotments
πŸ₯• Incredible Edible Salford
🌱 Growing Togetherness CIC

Last week, we put a call out to our local community asking if anyone could help us with donations of plants and flowers for our community space at Little Hulton Precinct β€” and wow, did our community answer! πŸ™ŒπŸŒΊπŸŒ»πŸŒΏ

Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mark from Growing Togetherness CIC, and we were completely blown away by his generosity. We came away with a fantastic load of plants and flowers ready to bring even more colour and life to our community space. πŸš—πŸŒ±πŸŒΈπŸŒΌ

🀝 Meeting Mark was a real pleasure. Not only did he help us with all these wonderful donations, but we were fortunate enough to get a guided tour of the site β€” and let me tell you, the place is AMAZING! 😍🌿

The gardens, allotments, greenhouse and all the incredible fresh produce growing there are something to be proud of. πŸ…πŸ₯•πŸ₯¬πŸŒ» If you've never been down and had a look, you really should!

We can't wait to get stuck in this Wednesday at Little Hulton Precinct and start getting these beautiful plants into our community space. πŸͺ΄πŸŒΊπŸ’ͺ

But perhaps the best thing to come from yesterday is that this isn't going to be a one-off. We're incredibly excited to say that Heads Up Gentlemen and Growing Togetherness CIC will be working together on future community projects. πŸ€πŸ’šπŸŒ±

We've gained some fantastic plants, made a brilliant new connection and, most importantly, made a new friend. πŸ‘πŸ’š

Thank you, Mark, and thank you to everyone at Buile Hill Park, Seedley Pavilion Community CafΓ©, Gardens & Allotments, Incredible Edible Salford and Growing Togetherness CIC.

This is exactly what happens when community groups come together, share what they have and support one another. 🫢🌍🌱

Together we grow. Together we make a difference. πŸŒ»πŸ’š

It's about bringing the lads together 🀝, stepping away from the pressures of everyday life 🧠, breathing in the fresh sea air 🌬️, sharing a few laughs πŸ˜„, and reminding ourselves just how important it is to look after our mental health and wellbeing πŸ’šπŸ’ͺ.

###Male perspective of Fertility Treatment####

-'Man Up' an ethnodrama I wrote for mmu as part of a 5 part series commission. To illustrate themes in a research project around 'Fertility in The Workplace'

-This particular ethnodrama script is currently used on the masters program at @MMU @tommys along with other workplaces.

-This piece was developed from conversations that took place in interviews and really highlights the range of emotions that are being dealt with often in silence.

-Dr Wilkinson from MMU commissioned me as writer and creative consultant on this specialised writing project.

- The actor performing the monologue is the talented Anthony Morgan.

🌿 Male Fertility Matters. 🌿

At Heads Up Gentlemen, we're passionate about raising awareness around the conversations that too often go unheard. Male fertility is one of them. Too many men suffer in silence, feeling overlooked or unsure where to turn for support.

A huge shout-out to our friend, supporter, and collaborator Jenny Berry, who has created the powerful ethnodrama "MAN UP", based on real-life fertility experiences. Jenny has an incredible gift for turning lived experiences into thought-provoking poetry, scripts, and performances that truly make people stop, think, and talk.

It has been an absolute privilege getting to know Jenny over the past few months, and we're incredibly proud to be working alongside her on our upcoming theatre production, Behind the Smile. Her passion, creativity, and dedication to raising awareness are genuinely inspiring.

Please take a few moments to have a listen. You never know whose life it could help or what conversation it might start.

Thank you, Jenny, for continuing to use your voice to make a difference. πŸ‘πŸ’š

πŸ’šπŸ§ πŸ’¬ What an incredible afternoon at Heads Up Gentlemen! πŸ’¬πŸ§ πŸ’š

Today at Pendlebury Social Club, Swinton πŸ“ was another fantastic session! πŸ™ŒπŸ’š

We had some brilliant conversations πŸ—£οΈ, honest and supportive check-ins 🀝❀️, plenty of laughs πŸ˜‚, and some great games of pool 🎱. Every week we're reminded just how powerful it is when men come together to support one another. πŸ’ͺπŸ’š

🎭 We also made exciting plans for our upcoming theatre production, Behind the Smile, coming this November. The enthusiasm is growing, and we can't wait to share this important production with our community! πŸŒŸπŸŽ¬πŸ‘

πŸŒ³β˜€οΈ We even took some time to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and sit together in the garden. Sometimes it's the simple momentsβ€”a conversation, a laugh, or just being around good peopleβ€”that make the biggest difference to our mental health and wellbeing. πŸŒΏπŸ˜ŠπŸ’š

A massive thank you to every gentleman who came along today. πŸ™πŸ’š You are what makes this group so special. Every conversation matters. Every person matters. ❀️
