Massage is not just about muscles.
It is about the nervous system.
When touch is rushed, even if the pressure is deep, the body stays slightly on edge.
The nervous system has not decided that it is safe yet.
And when the nervous system is not regulated, the tissue does not fully soften.
This is why pace matters so much.
Slow touch allows the breath to change.
The fascia to respond.
The nervous system to settle.
Only then can deeper work be received instead of resisted.
