The UK has announced a ban on social media for children under 16, and I believe it's the right decision.

Today's generation has grown up with social mediait has become a normal part of everyday life. Many young people may not immediately understand the benefits of stepping away from it, but over time, this change could help them build healthier habits and enjoy more of their childhood offline.

Social media can be a positive tool, but it also exposes children to serious risks, including cyberbullying, harmful content, online exploitation, and pressures that can affect mental health. Sadly, there have been cases where online experiences have contributed to tragic outcomes.

No policy is perfect, and there will always be debate about how these rules should be enforced. But when it comes to protecting children, I believe the government has made the right choice.
