Something I used to believe about beauty?

That if a product was more expensive, it must be better. 😂

I think a lot of us have been conditioned to think that way.

Fancy packaging.
Big promises.
A price tag that makes you think, “Well… it MUST be good.” 😂

But I've become much more interested in a different question:

Does it actually work for me?

Do I enjoy using it?

Does my skin like it?

Would I buy it again?

And perhaps most importantly…

Would I still use it when nobody's watching? 😂

Because I've bought plenty of things over the years that looked beautiful sitting on my bathroom shelf.

Actually using them?

Different story.

These days I'm much more interested in finding the things that earn their place in my routine.

Not because they're expensive.

Not because everyone else is talking about them.

Because I genuinely like them.

And I think that's probably a much better beauty rule.

What's one beauty product you've bought because you thought you should love it… but didn't? 👀

One beauty rule I don't really follow anymore?

That you need a complicated routine to look after your skin. 😂

In fact, the older I get, the more I want the opposite.

My beauty cupboard used to be a collection of things I thought I should be using.

This serum.
That cream.
Another treatment.
Something I'd bought because apparently my skin absolutely needed it. 😂

And then… I'd wonder why I couldn't be bothered to use half of it.

These days I'm much more interested in:

✨ products I actually enjoy using
✨ routines I can realistically stick to
✨ things that make my skin feel good
✨ makeup that still looks like skin
✨ beauty that fits into my actual life

Which is one of the reasons Korean skincare has really grabbed my attention.

I like the philosophy behind it, consistent, layered care rather than throwing 15 different products at your face and hoping for the best.

And I'm definitely finding that simple doesn't have to mean basic.

It can mean being more intentional about what you use and why.

Maybe that's just part of getting older…

Or maybe I've finally stopped believing every beauty rule I'm told. 😂

SPOTLIGHT… WHAT A DAY! ✨

I’ve been thinking about what I actually want to say about this weekend, because yes, there was the recognition, the new products, our Korean Founder, Val Garland...DING D**G! 🔔 Our fabulous community of stylists and our amazing Head Office team who pulled out all the stops.

And yes, I had a brilliant day and night! ❤️

But actually, for me, Spotlight was about something a little bigger.

I walked away from a 32-year corporate career, and I made a decision that I wasn’t going back.

That was a BIG decision.

Because when you’ve spent most of your adult life in a career, it’s very easy to define yourself by what you do.

So here I am in this next chapter, figuring out what I want my life to look like, and building something of my own.

And I’m getting serious about making it work.

MeAmora isn't just about selling skincare for me anymore.

It’s about creating a business that gives me choice, purpose, income and something that is mine.

Spotlight reminded me why I’m doing this.

The people.
The products.
The energy.
The possibilities.
The recognition of what can happen when you actually decide to go for it.

I don't have it all figured out.

But I know this…

I’m not ready to sit back.

60 isn't the end of something.

For me, it feels like the beginning of something else.

And I'm pretty excited to see where I can take it. ❤️

This is what I’m building.

Well and truly out of office as we arrive at Spotlight, our MeAmora Annual Conference! 💫

A weekend of inspiration, learning, connection, new ideas, incredible people and hopefully a few surprises along the way! 👀🔥

I’ve been looking forward to this — not just for the products and the business, but for the opportunity to step away from the everyday and see what’s possible.

I’m going to soak it all up, enjoy every minute and come back with a head full of ideas!
