Florida has been a true trip of a lifetime for us. From Disney to Universal, Hogwarts to Epic Universe, it’s been everything I’d hoped it would be and more.
But if you’ve been wondering where I’ve disappeared to… that’s why!
Now it’s time to swap rollercoasters for recipes, notebooks and soap moulds.
I’ve come home with a notebook full of ideas inspired by this holiday, and I genuinely can’t wait to get back into the studio.

🍂 A little glimpse behind the scenes…
We’re almost ready to take our summer break, but I couldn’t quite resist one last afternoon in the studio.
Before packing everything away, I poured a whole collection of sample scents for our Autumn/Winter range. They’re tucked away ready for testing as soon as we’re back.
This is one of my favourite parts of the process. It starts with tiny sample pots, fragrance notes scribbled on labels, and lots of “what if…?” moments before anything ever becomes part of the collection.
So while we’re enjoying a little time to recharge, these will be patiently waiting for their turn.
I already have a few favourites… but you’ll have to wait a little longer to find out what they are. 🤍🍂

☀️ A little summer pause…
Every year, I take a short break to rest, spend time with family and recharge before the busy months ahead.
So I just wanted to give you plenty of notice if you’ve been thinking about placing an order.
🌿 Postal orders will pause from 16th July until 3rd August.
🌿 Local deliveries will pause from 14th July until 5th August.
If you’ve had your eye on a personalised engraved candle, a favourite fragrance or a thoughtful gift, now is the perfect time to order so I can have everything made and dispatched before I head off.
The website will remain open throughout, so you’re still welcome to browse and place orders while I’m away. Any orders received during the break will simply be lovingly made and dispatched once I’m back.
Thank you, as always, for supporting my little business. Every order means more than you know, and I can’t wait to return refreshed and ready for the next season.

No studio today - that’s currently being taken apart for a new boiler - so it’s the hob, a candle, and my laptop.
Burn testing, logging everything, double checking… then checking again.
It’s not glamorous.
It’s not aesthetic.
But it’s what actually sits behind every product.
This is the part people don’t always see.
The testing, the numbers, the “is that right?” moments.
And honestly… this is exactly why I built Fern Dale Makers Studio.
Without a system everything falls apart.
