So we are using a technique called French blending here, growing out the grey but with blended ‘colour’ not with our usual silver, ashy or grey colour choices.

In this case, it’s because, my lovely client is not ready to go fully natural yet. She likes the idea of different shades of bronze & brunette, running through her hair, along with her natural silver strands.
She is also happy to come in 3-4 per year for maintenance until she is ready. She has never ventured into a salon properly too so I think she is enjoying the experience and the peace!.

Previously to this appointment, we were not going to add any lightening products as we were worried about the condition of her hair but with two really good cuts, professional products being used at home and an amino acid keratin treatment, we were able to do it this time and we are really happy with the bronzey brunette vibe! 🤎

This lovely lady started to go grey at a very young age. She had been box dyeing her hair but this has left a heavy dark build up with coppery, compromised ends.

At this 1st appointment we have decided not to lighten as we will end up very coppery and hair more compromised. But I have done two great cuts (a fair amount off) so hopefully in the near future, this can change.

For the moment we have decided on lowlights, still loads of foils to give us that blended look, but allowing the natural root to grow down. I put a lighter ashier brown in between foils to give shine and lightness against the dark build up. My client is not ready to embrace all natural yet, so we are working towards an alternative of different shades of brown. Giving a more modern, fresh and age appropriate style & look.

Starting with the front, top and crown. Back to back foils. So many 😂. Lifted like a dream!. Keeping hair integrity intact at all times 🙌🏼.

A few tiny lowlights were put in where there were tiny clusters of natural hair in amongst so much white/grey hair. Following the natural regrowth for a perfect blend 👌🏼.

Our first appointment was an amino acid smoothing treatment. Like having each individual hair french polished, it also helps with manageability and lifting the hair a shade or two, which is most helpful!

As you can see from this second picture, the hair has lost that real deep brown that my lovely client had before.

Already the slight lightness and warmth is suiting her skin tone. Cannot wait to show you what we did next!
