One thing I’m really noticing with women in their 40s coming into the treatment room is this…

A lot haven’t had a proper skincare routine before (and I’m not surprised with all the products, do’s and don’ts and so on!

Some are using soap and water.
Some have a few random products but aren’t really sure what they do.
Some have great products but seeing no results.

It can be a minefield and if you aren’t in the industry and trying to get started… well it’s not easy.

One of the parts I’m genuinely enjoying the most is helping clients understand their skin without making it feel complicated.

Yes, i mentioned in this post things like eye cream, retinol and treatment products but these can be helpful later on. BUT that’s not where I’d usually start.

Most of the time, we begin much simpler:

💧A gentle cleanser.
💧Hydration.
💧Moisturiser.
💧And SPF every morning (non-negotiable).

Once the skin feels calmer, stronger and more supported, then we can look at adding more in.

But for real, have you? No? Just becuase it’s cloudy, it doesn’t mean you skin gets a day off 😮‍💨 go pop it on!

Literally, even on a grey UK day, your skin is still dealing with:

I remember SPF being sticky oily and gross but these days , trust me they are so good and many can also work as your primer. Treat yourself to one asap and thank me later! 🤭

✨ A little skin reflection…
Lately so many women have complimented my skin, and it honestly means so much, especially because it’s only been 5 months since I really committed to my own skin journey.

I’ve had a few treatments, but the real change has come from consistency. One facial won’t transform your skin, and even a couple of treatments can’t undo years of sun exposure or skipping SPF. But a gentle, steady approach really does bring back glow, collagen, and elasticity.

And yes… I’m still working on fading my sun spots. It’s slow, it’s frustrating, but the results are coming.
