We all want our skincare to work yesterday 👀

But pigmentation does not fade in a week just because you bought a new serum.

Sometimes the product is not the problem. The problem is that we use it for 10 days, 20 days, then the excitement wears off and when we don’t see a dramatic change, then we stop and start something else.

With pigmentation, consistency matters more than constantly changing products.

A hydrating serum can make your skin look fresher quite quickly, but actual pigment fading usually takes weeks to months (it takes years for it to form!).

And if the trigger is still there, such as sun exposure, picking spots, heat, over-exfoliating, barrier damage, your skin can keep making more pigment while you’re trying to fade the old pigment.

A little reflection of mine and a little reminder today that it’s never too late to take a new direction 🙂

Starting something new in your 40s can feel scary, not knowing where to start and if the risk is worth the effort. It does come down to what do you want from life and where are you in your stage of life. Personally, I knew I was ready for a change 😍

… and days like yesterday remind me that growth happens when you keep showing up, keep learning, and keep backing yourself.

Still learning, still growing, but proud of how far I’ve come. 🏎️
