Surviving the heatwave together ☀️🥵💅

The next few slides cover everything you need to know, from rescheduling appointments if the heat is a bit much, to how hot weather can affect your nails, plus my top tips for keeping your manicure looking its best and staying firmly attached throughout the week! 💕

My cabin does have multiple fans and a cooling unit, but when temperatures are pushing 35°C, it can still get uncomfortably warm, especially during the middle of the day.

If you’d feel more comfortable moving your appointment, please don’t hesitate to message me. I’ll also be reaching out to any clients whose appointments I think may be most affected so we can discuss options together.

For those keeping their appointments, I recommend wearing light clothing, bringing a cold drink, or popping me a message beforehand so I can have an ice-cold drink waiting for you. 🧊💕

Hot weather doesn’t just affect us—it affects nails too!

Higher temperatures can make gel products runnier and more difficult to work with, meaning some appointments may take a little longer and certain nail art designs may be more challenging to create.

The heat can also increase sweating and natural oil production, which can sometimes affect retention. If you know what design you’d like beforehand, let me know and I can have products cooled and ready for your appointment. If you’d prefer to simplify your design, that’s absolutely fine too. 💕

☀️ Apply sunscreen before your appointment where possible, avoiding the nail plate. Applying it after can effect retention!

💦 Rinse hands after swimming to remove chlorine, salt water and pool chemicals.

🧴 Tanning oils, sun creams and lotions can make nails feel slippery and may affect retention if they’re repeatedly worked into lifting areas.

💅 Keep using your cuticle oil—hydrated nails are happier nails!

🚫 Don’t use your nails as tools, especially when they’re softer from heat and water exposure.

📩 Notice lifting, damage or a break? Message me sooner rather than later so we can prevent further issues.
