Sometimes, a dog’s pain or discomfort is easy to spot - for example, through lameness.

I was delighted to help Max, who was one of my case studies during my training. Seeing the difference in him, and then followed by his recent success, was truly the icing on the cake.

Today is National Black Dog Day 🖤

Black Dog Day is to raise awareness about the unique challenges black dogs face in rescues, and to encourage their adoption, as black dogs are often overlooked.

As dogs get older, it’s completely normal for their bodies to change. They may move a little more slowly, take longer to get comfortable, or become less enthusiastic about some of the things they used to love.

Canine massage can be a lovely way to support an older dog’s comfort and overall wellbeing. Gentle, appropriate techniques can help maintain mobility, encourage circulation, help with those aches and pains, and provide some much-needed relaxation.

It’s not about trying to make an older dog feel young again - it’s about helping them stay comfortable, mobile and enjoying life for as long as possible.

If your oldie is starting to slow down, canine massage may be something worth exploring alongside their veterinary care.

Today is National Pet Memorial Day. It is a day dedicated to our lovely pets who are no longer with us 🩵

This is Pickle. Pickle was the dog who brought us into the world of dog training, dog sports and canine massage.

In 2013, Pickle fell off Fort Le Marchant, and landed screaming in pain. We rushed him to the vets, where we were told he had no internal bleeding, no broken bones and he was "fine". After some time, we knew he still wasn't feeling good, so took him to see Ren Glass (Canine Motion Dog Massage Therapy) who found lots of scar tissue and muscular strains from the incident.

After one treatment, Pickle was like a different dog. He was so much happier, more energetic and back to himself. He continued to have massage treatments whenever we could, and he lived to be 14.5 years old.

Pickle was the one who changed everything.
