Finally home and in time for Mothers Day💕

Around 30 weeks gestation, I went into early labor and spent a few days in the hospital. Our daughter Zariah Luna was born, only weighing 3lbs and 5oz. She decided to come 2 months earlier than planned and spent 46 days in the NICU.

Nobody can prepare you for leaving the hospital without your baby or seeing them hooked up to all the monitors. I've struggled, cried and found strength I didnt know I had. My nervous system could not catch a break and my world felt uncertain and heavy.. through the fear and the waiting, the setbacks and the milestones, it felt almost impossible.

It might've not been the birth plan I had in mind but one thing remains, God's hand was all over it. I truly will never be able to thank our NICU team enough, they are the kindest, most empathetic and caring people on earth. They are literally angels on earth who saved our babygirls life.

After discharge, most parents are on their own. Everyone thinks that because we had survived the NICU that we just pickup where all parents who bring their babies right home do. But it's far from that. For us it's just the beginning, it's life after that's the real test.

To all the parents who are currently or have been through the NICU journey, who've had preemie babies, or are struggling with their childrens health.. you're not alone and it's NOT easy. We all cope differently and handle the stress and fear in our own way. Sending lots of love, prayers and positivity your way.🫂
