As a small business, our appointment times are valuable. Unfortunately, this morning we had clients who did not attend their appointments.

Those time slots had been reserved specifically for them, which meant we had to decline other clients who would have gladly accepted a Sunday morning appointment.

We understand that unexpected situations arise and plans can change. However, a quick phone call or message is always appreciated. It allows us to offer the appointment to someone else and helps us manage our business fairly and professionally.

Like everyone, we have families and personal commitments, and we schedule our time around the appointments we have booked.

Thank you to all of our loyal clients who always arrive on time or let us know if they need to cancel or reschedule. Your courtesy and support are genuinely appreciated. 💗

✨ Get to Know the Face Behind Raven Beauty by Lolo ✨

Hi, I'm Lorraine, the face behind Raven Beauty by Lolo.

I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly because behind every small business is a real person with a story.

I was born and raised in Arklow, alongside my brother and sister, to two wonderful parents whose story began, like so many local love stories, at the famous Arklow Pottery.

Dad spotted Mam straight away. She looked like she'd stepped straight out of the 1960s with her stylish skirts, knee-high boots and effortless beauty. Dad, with his long flowing hair "fifth Beatle", certainly wasn't slow to make his move! Thankfully he did, because over 60 years later they're still together and remain the greatest example of love, loyalty and commitment I could ever wish for.

Growing up, the five of us shared a childhood full of love, laughter and wonderful memories. Looking back now, I realise just how lucky we were to be raised in such a close knit family where kindness, hard work and always looking after one another were simply a way of life.

Years later, when my marriage ended and I suddenly found myself raising a young family on my own, my parents stepped in without hesitation. They helped me every single day, giving me the strength and support to rebuild my life. Everything they taught me has shaped the woman, mother and business owner I am today, and I will be forever grateful.

I started my own journey into motherhood at just 16 years old. My ex-husband and I were only teenagers ourselves, convinced we knew it all.

Back then, things were very different. I had to leave St Mary's because, in those days, there wasn't a place for a pregnant 16-year-old girl in the school's idea of what life should look like. Thankfully, after Gary was born, I returned to the local TEC to complete my education. I never felt like I missed out because my parents stood beside me every step of the way, helping me raise my young family while still encouraging me to follow my dreams.

My eldest son, Gary, was my very own little besties with our train trips to Dublin or our little adventures I learnt to grow up myself along side him, Gary is now married to LeAnn they have given me three incredible grandchildren: Reece, Faye and little Frankee.

Reece is a multiple World and European kickboxing medallist whose dedication and determination inspire us all. Faye is an amazing GAA and camogie player who gives everything on the pitch and isn't afraid to stand her ground. Then there's little Frankee, named after my wonderful dad. She may be tiny, but she's fearless! She recently jumped off a boat into Lake Garda as if she were climbing into a paddling pool, and her personality is every bit as big as her brother and sister's.

Eight years after Gary, my beautiful red-haired boy Conor arrived. He was kind, funny, adventurous and my little best friend. Some of my happiest memories are getting him out of mischief, Conor who sadly passed away seven years ago, will always be one of my greatest loves. Although he's no longer with us, he remains part of everything we do as a family. Conor left us the most precious gift his beautiful daughter, Kayla, who fills our lives with so much love, kindness and joy every single day.

At 29, I welcomed my twins, Chloe and Leah. My two little lifesavers. They have grown into the most kind, hardworking and independent young women. They left school after their Leaving Certificate and walked straight into work, determined to build their own futures. Their sense of humour is something very special, and even through the hardest times they have always found a way to make us laugh. They have stood beside me through every chapter of life, and I honestly don't think they'll ever truly understand how much they have carried me. They are my daughters, my best friends and two of the people I'm proudest of in this world.

I'm also incredibly lucky to be engaged to my best friend, Padraig. We grew up in the same housing estate and there was always a little crush there, but I was younger and life took us in different directions. Years later, after we'd both lived a little more life, we found our way back to each other. Sometimes the best love stories simply need time. Padraig has always believed in me and supported every dream I've had, and for that I'll always be grateful.

Outside of beauty, fashion has always been a huge passion of mine. Learning to see from a young age I wanted to be a fashion designer from a young child, I love clothes, styling outfits and interior design. I also have a real love for art, especially painting with watercolours during the long winter evenings. It's my way of switching off, being creative and finding a little peace.

Beauty is so much more than makeup to me. It's about confidence, self-care and helping people feel like the very best version of themselves. That's why I continue to invest in professional education and training with some of the industry's leading brands. I truly believe that learning never stops.
